I personally can't believe that some people are such Kobe [censored you naughty boy] that they take anything Tmac says about him out of context, and take out words he says.

Hey guys, I hope you have read this disgusting piece of trash the media calls an article. www.covers.com/includes/article.aspx?theArt=8823 I got so mad I e-mailed the guy. Here it is, if you care. I don't care if you have anything bad to say, I just want your opinion on it.
Wow... I thought that Tracy McGrady's comments were getting blown out of proportion, but after reading your article, I think that another phrase should be invented just for this situation. This has got to be the biggest case of the media manipulating a man's words to use them against him in the history of time. Tracy McGrady isn't chastising Kobe, like ESPN's headlines say. There were no harsh words coming from Tracy McGrady's mouth, blasting Kobe, like MSNBC's headlines say. But of course, the media chooses to cut off certain words, certain sentences, certain passages and, oh look! Tracy McGrady's the BAD guy! It's getting to the point that it's making me sick.
Case number 1: The media says that McGrady is chastising Kobe by saying the following words to HIM, "Stick with your wife." WRONG. These words, Tracy McGrady's words, aren't directed at Kobe Bryant. They are directed at the whole league. Let's see what Tracy McGrady really said.
"This is nothing new. It just so happens that somebody spoke out this time," said McGrady, who isn't married. "This can happen at any given time, but you've just got to be careful because we are targets. If you are married, stick with your wife and don't do anything that's crazy that will cause problems at home. Keep a happy family.
"Kobe is a great guy. He really is. I never thought this would occur with him. I thought he was that perfect guy with a good, clean image. But I don't know, you just have to be careful."

Now, after reading this, I cannot see anywhere that the comment "Stick with your wife" is directed at Kobe. He is offering advice to everyone in the NBA, especially the young players that plan on building a family while at the same time building a career in the NBA as a star. Yeah, that sure is a blast directed at Kobe. Now, we come to our next point, one that is accentuated in your article, one that is wrong on so many levels, and one that has been disturbing me to no end. Here is a passage taken from your article, nothing omitted like you guys do:
"The biggest crybaby in the NBA is whining once again because the NBA's best young superstar, Kobe Bryant, is getting all the attention."
The biggest crybaby in the NBA is whining. Okay, okay... hold on. Since when is Tracy McGrady the biggest crybaby in the NBA? When has he demonstrated that he is a whiner? When has he cried about anything? And not only is he whining, but he's whining because Kobe Bryant, the "NBA's best young superstar" is getting all the attention. Where are you getting this stuff? This is unfounded fiction, impossible to prove. It would have been nice that in your article you alluded to a past situation that had earned Tracy McGrady the label of "the biggest crybaby in the NBA." Oh, yeah, I forgot. There isn't.
So, anyways, you use this quote to say that Tracy McGrady is jealous of all the media attention Kobe is getting:
"Hopefully, a lot of fans tune into what we're doing over there in Puerto Rico (at the Olympic qualifying tournament) and not so much worrying about what Kobe's going through,'' said McGrady. "Every time you turn on the channel, it's Kobe this, Kobe that. Hopefully, we can draw some of that attention to us.''
Nice job, cutting out all the words that give the quote its real meaning. No wonder everyone and their mother is screaming for Tracy McGrady's blood. Here's the real, unabridged quote, courtesy of the Florida Today article posted above:
"Hopefully we can take some of the attention off Kobe and some of the fans will tune into what we're doing in Puerto Rico and not so much what Kobe's going through," he said. "Hopefully we can do that for him. Right now, there's nothing going on and every channel you turn to it's Kobe this and Kobe that. Hopefully we can draw some of the attention to us."
After reading that, things become real different. Tracy McGrady doesn't want the attention because he's jealous. He doesn't want to be the only one in the spotlight. Tracy McGrady wants the media to focus on Team USA because he hates to see Kobe suffer through all the media scrutiny that he is going through, due to the sexual assault charges brought against him. Of course, you all choose to ignore that. You want to go for the jugular, feed the masses with blood. Why Tracy McGrady though? He has done nothing to deserve this. He is one of the NBA's brightest stars, has proved time and time again that he is a classy person, befriending sniper victim Iran Brown and inviting families suffering the effects of war to the All-Star Weekend in Atlanta. Why does the media want to bring him down then? I guess they're too in love with Kobe.
In conclusion, I really hope that you have time to read this e-mail and think about what you wrote. If you had the time to write such nonsense, then surely you will have time to reply to me. I eagerly await your reply, and I wish you luck in future endeavors.
Sincerely,
xxxxx xxxxx
P.S. you mention that Tracy McGrady should get out of the first round before offering Kobe advice. What does that have to do with anything? Now it's obvious that you have something personal against him. Since when does success in the league have to do anything with personal morals and standards. Pointing fingers? That makes no sense.
Like the loser the guy probably is (I still can't believe Covers actually sponsered Fanhome at one time)...he probably won't even reply or just give back a message that basically makes no sense whatsoever.
Great job on breaking that fool's idiotic "article" down like it deserved to be.
Any of y'all remember Kevin Ding, the idiot from OC Register? That guy had an article blasting the Miller - Gooden deal, even going as far as saying that Miller is the next Kobe. What a moron.
This guy Jon is a first class moron. I think he works for the tabloids.
