I thought his fine would be closer to the $500,000 Cuban got back in 2002. Gilbert has to control his emotions better. Had he conducted him self with class and professionalism, stating facts about what happen without venom and rancor, I think it would have actually made Lebron look even worse.

Consider it has likely cost him players who might have gone to Cleveland in the future. ESPN special or not, players have a certain thing with eachother and this is one of those things you dont do as an owner to one of the best players in the league who put butts in the seats

He should taken a bigger financial hit, maybe then it would teach him to remain civil when things don't go his way. Stern should've had a sit down with him and helped him realize that the NBA doesn't work that way.

He felt embarrassed and betrayed, but that still doesn't give him the right to act like LeBron is his "property" so to speak. Next time, he should try getting his point across - which he had some valid points which got ruined through his ranting - in a more professional and respectful manner. Amongst players, in the media, and the public (not including Clevelanders/Cavalier fans) he came out looking like a douche.

I guess Gilbert thought by pampering LeBron and his sycophants he would never leave. Well, he didn't realize that when you're as talented as LeBron is you can always find other people willing to fall at your feet to gain your services/please you. I hope that he's actually learned something from this experience and that he hasn't hurt his franchise irrevocably in the process.

Well he knew what he was doing... then he goes on to do the fathead ordeal..funny or not, calling the kid a traitor and carrying on got out of hand.

Other players saw the same thing we saw and probably have more insider knowledge than we do.. that where he'll be cost the most.

What a stupid league the NBA is.

No because players stick together, they're in a Union.. seeing something like this hardly ever favors an owner. Lashing out in the media like a baby airing dirty laundry, true or not, is not something players take kind to im sure.

On top of that he was fined for it.. no way its a win for him

I think the fans of the organization felt what he did was admirable. Not all... but I would say a good portion.
