2010 Las Vegas Summer League Thread

It's started on the 9th, but the Wizards play on the 11th, that's whats important..anyway..here we go, never been this excited over the summer leauge though.

John Wall to make Wizards debut in Las Vegas on July 11

The NBA summer league schedule was announced on Tuesday and the Washington Wizards will play five games, beginning on July 11 against Golden State. That should provide a good challenge for expected No. 1 overall pick John Wall -- especially if the Warriors play point guard Stephen Curry, the runner-up rookie of the year whom Washington passed over with the fifth pick last summer to trade the choice for Mike Miller and Randy Foye.

The Wizards will be among 22 teams to participate in the tournament, which runs from July 9-18 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

On July 12, the Wizards will face the Los Angeles Clippers and 2009 No. 1 overall pick Blake Griffin and take two days off before facing Dallas (and French second-year point guard Rodrigue Beaubois) on July 15. They will also face New Orleans and New York.

Here's the schedule, with Eastern standard times: Golden State (July 11, 8 p.m.), Los Angeles Clippers (July 12, 10 p.m.), Dallas (July 15, 8 p.m.), New Orleans (July 16, 8 p.m.), and New York (July 17, 4 p.m.). A broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date.

    Roster:

PG: John Wall, Jon Scheyer, Jerome Randle, Sun Yue

SG: Nick Young, Eric Hayes, Cartier Martin

    SF:Raymar Morgan, Kevin Palmer,

    PF: Trevor Booker, Boo Jackson

    C: JaVale McGee, Hamady NDiaye
    Washington Redskins
    Washington Wizards
    St.Louis Cardinals
    Uconn Huskies
    Miami Hurricanes

Lets be honest, the people are only there to see OJ Mayo run point, after his 2 games they might as well shut the gym down.

I'm actually excited to see Mayo at the point. I hope he pulls it off. Could be huge for your squad.

Are they considering that for the season ? Have they given up on Conley ? Haven't followed them much this year only wathed about 20 or so of their games I thought Conley was okay.

Mayo is considering it more than the coaching staff, he wants to be a point guard, so this is more of a "prove it", than a change in philosophy on Conley.

He will have had to improve his ballhandling a lot since the season ended to be serious about this tho

If anyone wants to know why the Suns felt the need to sign Hakim Warrick, all you need to do is watch Earl Clank...er..Clark shoot the last two days

Man, Weems, DeRonzan were CLEARLY the best players on the court vs. the Suns.

                      ??

Wall sat out one practice bc of the groin, then went full speed friday night. He's playing every game. I'm looking forward to it, might DVR it though since i usually play ball Sunday nights.

Marcus Thornton is a man among boys. Can get whatever shot he wants. And I love it.

He could be poised for an awesome season, barring injury of course. That dude's bulldog like tenacity excites me and scares me at the same time.

Patrick Patterson lit it up yesterday but isn't playing so hot tonight. Kinda funny seeing Patterson score more points in 1 game than Daniel Orton did in 5 of them.

Fell in love with the outside shot, once he bricked the first...like three 3 point attempts, he never seemed to be focused offensively. Still didn't play bad though.

Jermaine Taylor has been our best player so far through two games. Scoring at will.
