Enough With the LBJ Hate

I'm really getting sick and tired of people ridiculing LeBron James because he left. Cleveland. Now I was shocked just like the rest of you but I never became as hysterical as some of you have. After a few moments of pondering I let my basketball sense and knowledge take over. Everybody is calling LeBron James a quitter because he left Cleveland. Listen The Man wants to be remembered as one of the all-time greats in the NBA. He wants to be placed near the top when people discuss the greatest players of all time. The only way that will happen is if he wins Championships. That's plural with an s. Explain to me how the man is a quitter just because he went to an organization where he felt he had the best chance to win titles. Think about this. If you wanted to advance up your career ladder and become the best at whatever it is you do, right. The company your staying with now your Mr./Ms. Popular everybody loves you. But you never get considered for any promotions. You get offered a similar job at another company where they'll love you just the same, and your chances of obtaining promotion where higher would you take the job to advance your career or stay stuck in limbo for fear of being labeled a quitter. People are really getting on my nerves now. How hard is it to understand that the guy wants to be a winner. He wants to be a multiple time NBA Champion. The Cavs organization weren't doing that for him. I can understand being upset. But don't hate the guy for doing what was best for him because ultimately that's what every NBA player and pro athlete in general do. Anyone who agrees please reply even those who disagree are open to reply. But please come with some validity and understanding. The extraneous hate and bashing have got to stop.

James isn't a quitter because he left Cleveland, he is a quitter for joining 2 other superstars to force rings instead of achieving them - joining Chicago wouldn't have made him a quitter, same as joining New York & New Jersey

LeBron made tons of money for Dan Gilbert, resurrected a dead franchise, and (even though the way he did it was wrong), exercised his right to work wherever he wanted. No different than any other American citizen. He doesn't owe anybody anything. It's pathetic that he's become the most hated sports figure in this country.

While I agree that he has every right to work where and do what he wants, he could have done it in a more professional way. I do not hate the guy for playing in Miami.......if we all had the chance to to work with 2 of our closest friends, and make an extreme amount of money doing it........a very large percentage would do it.

But I struggle with that somehow in his mind, he thought it would cool to go on national tv, and announce he is leaving the area, fan base, and the team that he was immortalized by. He owes nothing nothing to the city of Cleveland, the fan base, with the exception of the decency to let them know he is leaving in a private, mature manner.....

He failed miserably at that last part!!

Both parties fulfilled their part of the contract, but they( Dan and Lebron ) failed in the way they handled the details.

Who cares if he is hated or not, that comes with playing in the NBA, not everyone will like him.

I have no problem with him leaving, the problem is with the dog and pony show he had with the forced emotion. Just issue a fecking press release and leave us alone.

Well, leaving Cleveland to join 2 all stars just doesnt make a good story. Lebron is free to do what he wants, but guess what.....were free to say our opinions as well, and I think for the most part, America has. If everyone did this, there would be no competition in sports.
