Why would they be drooling? Lil' Penny and Big Penny haven't been relevant for at leat fourteen years now. If you're to believe some of the comments from Peter Moore regarding Michael Jordan not mattering being on the cover of a video game and posts supporting those comments where people don't know about Michael's greatness compared to the Bron's and Kobe's of now, then why the heck would Penny matter now?

This actually makes Penny look sad. It's funny how NOW he wants to ride on the train. I mean it was one thing when Gary Payton and Karl Malone thought they would get on the Shaq and Kobe bandwagon to try to get a ring before they could no longer play anymore.

This is just sad. Penny, seriously? There are better players in the NBA that haven't retired that would go to Miami for the league minimum.

I HOPE he gets picked up by Miami. Why?? We'll see when the season starts. I honestly would love to hear Rock do the Penny thing and have that in there with the Kobe and Lebron puppets. Could really be some more classics. I loved the Lil Penny commercials.

On another note, where did Petey speak out of his neck? I want to see that interview.......

I would love to see him get a ring. Not sure how much he could help a team at almost 39, but they should at least listen to him and give him a try out.

I would have loved to have seen him get a ring when he was in his prime. If he went there now and got a championship, well it's just not the same. It would be like Lebron calling Penny up and saying "hey would you like a ring? I guess we can put you on the roster so you can have one too"

If I was a pro player, when I go home and sleep at night, i would feel like I really didnt earn my ring if I got it that way.

This is not gonna happen, the heat do not need a below average 3point shooter who is 39. Yes Penny can give you veteran leadership and another ball handler...but all they need right now is a spot up 3pt shooting pg who can defend....LBJ and Dwade will have the ball in their hand most of the time.

Penny wasn't the same once Shaq left. He had a solid 1993-94 rookie campaign. Blew up in 1994-95 helping Orlando get to the NBA Finals, then was labeled a superstar in 1995-96 which was a great year for him, first team all nba if I remember correctly.

Then Shaq left and 1996-97 was a disappointment because his numbers were expected go up across the board because Shaq was gone and it was now his team, but instead they were pretty much equal and lower than in 1995-96.

Then he got hurt in 1997-98, playing only 19 games and was never the same since. People forget that Orlando rebounded and made the Playoffs in 1999 and Penny was a part of that, but he was obviously not the same player, and they were upset by the 76ers, the first playoff series that Iverson won.

Then Penny went to Phoenix, and it was even more injuries. He pretty much rode the bench everywhere else after that. Has he been playing overseas the last few years? What a shame, this guy was so popular and so good when he had Shaq.
