Re: Who was a better PF?
Those New Jersey Nets teams were the worst teams ever in the finals.
Tim Duncan had a great year but he has never really played the PF position. He was/is and always will be a center. Especially when you look at it from a 00's vs. 80's offensive sets, defensive sets etc.....
I think Tim Duncan stats look better but a healthy McHale against a healthy Duncan is basically a draw. Too bad Parish would have been guarding Duncan anyway.....Comment

Say what???? The early 2000's the NBA lacked talent so bad.

Re: Who was a better PF?
i agree with wwharton.
6'11, 250 with a slender build is pretty much how the power forward position has been filled in the modern era. just because he has the skills to move over into the center position if needed and play it at a high level does not make him a center.xbox gt - bmorerep87

Re: Who was a better PF?
Tough call, both are so fundamentally sound. But, I have to go with the "Big Fundamental." Frankenstein was great, but Timmy was greater.Comment

Re: Who was a better PF?
Duncan vs Elvin Hayes is actually a good one. Very similiar players. To close to call on that one. Great rebounders who could step out to 12 feet and knock it down. Again it's the Man to man defense era vs the zone defense era. Wouldn't be disapointed with either player.I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....Comment

Re: Who was a better PF?
Now I love Duncan - he's a throwback and plays basketball the way it should be played. But I saw 'E' in his prime, and I'm telling you, the cat was a one-man wrecking crew. Led the league in scoring as a rookie, 12 time All-Star, 4th all-time in minutes per game, 4th all-time in rebounds, 7th all-time in points, went to three Finals(winning in 1978), and only missed nine games in 16 seasons. I'm partial to the old skool cats, so I'll give him a slight edge over TD.
Big E was great, but not as good as Duncan. Duncan beats him in Career Per (25-18) & TS% (.553 to .490). The one thing Hayes had going for him was like you said... he could play all-day everyday. 45 minutes per game would destroy my lungs lol.
Next time you rattle off a player's accolades, remember to include the other player to rid you of your biased decisions.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

As a Mavs fan it kills me to say it, but i'd have to take Tim Duncan."Never say never, because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion."- Michael Jordan #23 -
