I think Renaldo Balkman can be a good servicable backup at the 3 or 4 if NYK will play him. He is a solid defender and doesn't need a lot of shots. Plus you can play Landlord at the 4 or 5 too.

You still loss your point guard who was playing great, a future potential good center *HOW DARE HE NOT COME IN THE NBA AND NOT DOMINATE FROM THE BEGINNING!* and draft picks for a year rental of Billiups, who is not nearly what he once was, two jobbers and a top ten player.

If the new CBA has a hard cap and 0 exemptions, which isn't at all farfetched, the Knicks have only a tiny bit of room to add a PG and any sort of bench, not to mention a guy to pair up with Amar'e to play good defense.

No mention of Brewer going to Denver yet, also no mention of Minny giving up a first yet.

Edit: Brewer going makes sense, but Minny giving up a first as well doesn't. Waiting to see what happens.

However as long as D'Antoni preaches no Defense and only SCORE! SCORE! SCORE!, don't expect anything more than a 2nd rd appearance, which would've been the case whereever he would've gone to.
Well...D'Antoni made 2 WCFs and should have been 3.....but I digress.

D'Antoni is a good coach, but:

Billiups is going to make him take up drinking because he's so slow

he doesn't put enough emphasis on defense.

Knicks should have forced Denver to offer more. Denver pulled the DeeBoe on the Knicks. They said give me yo chain, and boom there went the Knick's chain. The Knicks were too scared to get a black eye from Denver (no Melo)

Felton was performing better than anyone expected but he not playing "great" and the system certainly helped him. It's funny how non-Knick fans flip-flop the D'Antoni system to work in their favor. If a guy is putting up good numbers then it's because of the system. Now he's playing great and it was a bad move to put him in the deal and the system had nothing to do with it.

Billups isn't in NY's long term plans, and even though I still think it's unlikely that they will be able to pull in a third star NY should have enough cap space to round out that roster in 2012.

Knicks no longer make me nervous for a possible first round opponent. Slow down some of that insane three point shooting.

Surprising though? Isaiah has been linked to these talks for the past couple weeks.

There also surfaced rumors Walsh would step down in the summer.
