Melo is a rare player you don't want to pass up on. An all-star caliber player and one of the best scorers in the league. Your in a conference with stacked teams in Boston, Orlando and Miami and the road to the NBA Finals just got harder. Are you going to go into the season with a Rose, Boozer and Noah combo? Or are you going to pull out the big guns with Rose, Melo and Boozer? If I'm going into battle I want the heavy artillery with Rose, Melo and Boozer.

You have Boozer and Taj. That's fine when you have Rose/Melo as your playmakers.
I understand your points, but IF we could find a way to keep Noah, wouldn't you want to keep him? I would give up Deng in a heartbeat, but I really like Noah. Don't get me wrong, in the end if it comes down to it, I would take Melo over Noah, but if we could work something out for other players, than that would be ideal. Just sayin

That's what I was going to say.

Finding a 10 and 10 center is a whole lot easier than finding a 25-28 PPG scorer with decent efficiency.

So you'd rather trade Rose instead?

Haha. Never said I would trade for Rose. Obviously Melo is better than Noah. I just believe that Noah is a great piece to the current Bulls team. Melo coming to Chicago is an exciting prospect, so we will see what happens.

I would definitely do a deal that involves Noah for Melo, if I was Chicago. Melo is a matchup nightmare and one of the best scorers in the league. If I thought Noah was elite defensively, I might not do it. But I keep asking myself, do I feel like he can consistently contain Gasol? Howard? etc. My instincts say no.

              Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga

I say keep Noah after the extension and let Carmelo become a free agent. I might be in the minority here but I rather have an above average center who still has the heart to improve than a player demanding a trade like that. I know that a lot of people are high on Carmelo but I honestly can't see him being the missing link to us winning a championship. I honestly think he's a pretty solid player but to make that trade leaves us out in the cold at the 5. How hard is it to find a player who plays the 5 that you know can contribute night in and night out without having to put up a point for you?

The thing is that Noah is also working on his offensive game which is improving a bit. I honestly think that Carmelo is a little overrated. I'd make Noah & Rose the untouchable pieces. Heck, I'm even willing to trade Boozer RIGHT NOW for Carmelo. I just don't see us getting any type of championship going through him. We need a wing guard still. Who is to say that Carmelo will even sign an extension when the season is up? If we get Noah on the hook for a few more years, I say play the season out and see how we do. Work in the free agency and through the draft. Find another Brandon Roy or Rudy Gay. I need to see who might be coming off the books after this season.......

Offense doesn't win championships, but defense and rebounding do. You don't trade Noah in the situation that we are in now. If it were a straight up signing of Melo and trade Deng somewhere, I'd be all for it. Noah is a valuable piece to a championship team.

I'd pull the trigger if I were the Bulls, Noah or no Noah. Melo is a baller. Energy guys are great, and bring a LOT to the table... but Melo is a bonafide stud.

A D-Rose, Melo, Boozer combo is just flat out nasty.

Rose, Melo, and Boozer definitely bests Rose, Boozer, and Noah.

I think with Melo the Bulls overtake the Magic and Celtics. Neither team comes close to touching the Heat, but with a hopeful ego meltdown in Miami the Bulls would be in the driver seat with Melo.

Unless they can swing something else after acquiring Melo the Bulls wouldn't have a guy in the rotation over 6'9 and would have Taj Gibson and James Johnson left to protect the rim. Good luck doing anything in the post season with that. You're not doing anything in the NBA playoffs with a college-sized front court.

Here we go again. It's the "Lebron to the Bulls" mess all over again.

Glad to see most media Outlets(Yahoo included)are still pushing the Melo to the Knicks part even though it's been known for a while that they don't have the appropriate pieces(and/or don't want to give them up)to get him but yet continue to ignore that we have just about anything Denver wants in terms of what they want in return for Melo.

Adding Melo, gives us balance? We've got scorers in Rose, Boozer, and Deng. Melo is a nice, no doubt, but he doesn't fit on the team without Noah. If we get another scorer, he's got to be able to play the two, or we get rid of Deng, not Noah. You don't down grade rebounding, defense, and energy.....for a scorer. Who's our starting center when Noah goes, Kurt Thomas? Omar Asik?

                              Hell to the no.

Sam Smith dropping knowledge. Exactly what I'm saying about giving up Noah for Anthony. You need size to win a championship and you don't give that up for scoring. Not in this NBA, not with those pieces laying in the wings for you. You wouldn't even be able to keep Taj in the deal in the Noah for Melo trade so you're just screwed in size. I want Melo, but not at the expense of Noah.
