    That's what I'm wondering.

Even if everyone but Amar'e and Anthony were gone, they'd still be on the hook for 40 million.

Meethinks Donnie was lying. NO way they would have more than, say, the Nets or maybe even the Clippers.

Donnie might be senile, who knows. I'm too lazy to look it up but someone tweeted today that the Clips only have $25m on the books for 2012.

I mean, at $40ish million on the books for the Knicks - I would bet we aren't even one of the five lowest in the league.

Or maybe Donnie never said that and a certain member heard wrong...

I heard it on the radio a few times today (not direct audio, just dudes talking about it) so I'm pretty sure Donnie did say it last night.

Yep, floating around $20m. It all depends what they do with Gordon's QO and what kind of extension he gets.

I don't think NY will be even in the top 10 lowest in the league in 2012.

He heard wrong. Here's what Walsh said:

NBA commissioner David Stern’s doomsday scenario would leave the Knicks $5 million under. But Walsh said if that happens “everybody’s going to have to go down, and $5 million could be the biggest in the league.”

I am not going to come here and post a lie. Come on now

He said it and assuming the worst which is about 45 mil, the Knicks will have 5 mil and he said it might be more then the rest because we have tons coming off the books.

And this is just based on the worst case. The cap will go down but I doubt it will be 45 million only

Melo is not going to make 20 a year until the second year of the Knicks deal

                  Next year is 18 million

Regardless the thought around here that the Knicks will not be able to go after Paul who did say he would take a cut to play for the Knicks is just not right.

I am sure that pay cut he would give the Knicks would put us over another average team willing to offer a bit more but not the talent the Knicks have

In other NYK news, Alan Hahn tweeted that J Jeffries was bought out by the Rockets and will sign with the Knicks as early as tomorrow based on his sources.

Here is his tweet just in case someone thinks that on top of being death I am also blind. LOL

Source tells Newsday that upon completing a buyout with the Rockets, perhaps as early as tomorrow, Jared Jeffries will sign with Knicks

Chris Paul said he would take a paycut?

Matter of fact, did he say he was going to the Knicks?

He did not say it to me. So I can't quote him but he toasted it at Melo's wedding

Seriously as far as I know CP3 has handled the whole 2012 situation as PC as possible and hasn't said anything about the Knicks outside of the reported toast at Melo's wedding and if that cat was spouting 'yeah here's to Melo and La La hope y'all make it, like we will when I take a pay cut to get to New York in 2012' then I'mma need somebody to chincheck him real quick.

You mean he handled it just like Melo because you never heard Melo say he was only going to the Knicks or that he told the Nuggets he only wanted the Knicks and Nets should be dissed

Melo said all the time that he wanted to see how things go and would look at Denvers offer. He never said he wanted to be traded unlike Paul did

Melo handled it well with not a peep and we all know what he wanted

Chris Paul never asked to be traded.

As for how Melo handled this situation, that's obviously the homer in you talking but I think we can all agree that he handled this probably worse than Lebron and only thing that gives him the edge is the stupid *** unecessary TV Show he had.
