They dont need Mike Finley, that is a really stupid trade!
They have plenty of guards and small forwards, they need to keep there big men.

Weighing in late, but I fully believe JO has every right to be pissed off, regardless of how huge a contract he signed. If you were working at a place where you felt comfortable with your boss, and management wanted you to commit to the company for the next 8-10 years, and you say yeah I'll stay, but only if so-and-so is my boss, and management tells you yeah, don't worry about it, sign her, and then later they turn around and can old dude, of course you'd be pissed. You don't know how you're gonna get along with the new guy, and basically, you were lied to. And then they expect you to honor your 8-10 year commitment like nothing happened? I can totally see where JO is highly pissed off.

Sorry but that doesnt happen in the sports world, it is totally different then the real world. You sign the contract to play for the team not the coach! Do you really think Isiah was going to be in Indy for the whole 8-10 years? JO knows going in that the players usually last longer with a team than the coaches do, if he thought Isiah would be there the whole 8-10 years he was only kidding himself, coaches are fired and hired all the time. I think there might be 1 coach that has been with the same team 10 years running and what is there like 9 new coaches in just the Eastern Conference this year? Now if your talking about the real world and you sign on to work somewhere for 10 years odds are that you would work for the same boss the whole 10 years. You cannot compare playing in the NBA to working in the real world period! Bird made a great move by canning Isiah and he needs to worry about winning and he doesnt need to worry about who 1 player wants as the coach. Isiah was given 3 years and never won a playoff series so it is time for JO and the rest of the team to move on! Besides Rick Carisle will make JO a better player anytime you can get a proven winning coach you gotta do what you gotta do!

Ok, granted, JO should feel like he was misled and lied to. And he should feel loyalty to Isiah. But damn, he should know that this is a business. And in this business, it is their job to win, and to make money. And to win, you need the best out there. Clearly, Isiah wasn't cuttin it. Larry came on late, spent 7 weeks reviewing tapes, looking at the way the games were played, and deciding on the best course of action to take. What was best for the franchise. And he decided, along with Walsh, that Isiah isn't the man to take them to the next level. Everyone knew it was coming. I'm sure JO knew it too.

I know that he is mad now, but if the Pacers have a great year, and get out of the first round of the playoffs, or even make it to the finals, then I'm sure he'll be singing a different tune.
