Not really? Lots of people confirming this across the board.
Get that sig and trade his ***. Way more teams willing to get Dwight rest of year plus next year commitment

He signs that and they are not trading him anytime soon.#RespectTheCultureComment

And that would be messed up if they got him to sign and then they dealt him away.
This is painful.Comment

Wojnarowski says he's unsure on specifics. Alex Kennedy confirming it.
Seems hazy. Magic need it in writing, to start.

This makes the MeloDrama look like nothing now and almost The Decision as well.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
This is closer to the Melo ordeal. Melo was on TV lying. Dwight is doing the same. And the Nets have been the bitch in both. They may get their man this time though.Comment

I think he'll be in ORL and DWill will be there next yearComment

Regardless of what Dwight Howard said during meeting with teammates, source close to Howard said he informed Alex Martins that he'll opt-in.

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
The Magic have no money unless a team wants to do a sign and trade. Jameer, Reddick, and either J-Rich or Big-Baby would clear up the space.
I don't think the Magic should trade him either way. I don't think a Brook Lopez and others deal helps much. For one, Lopez is a Center that gets less than 4 rpg. No thanks. Plus, he's a free agent after next year, and so is Bynum. I'd rather take my chances, and make Dwight leave money on the table and look like the bad guy and leave. If he does, then you have cap space and you rebuild. If he doesn't leave, then you're a contender in the east for years.
Just think if the Magic hadn't done that knee jerk trade in 2010. They wouldn't be stuck with Hedo, and they'd have still had a valuable trade piece in Gortat and probably been able to get Ellis from the Warriors.
If the Magic can get a waiver that he won't opt out, that gives them more time to do one of two things: get someone to come down to Orlando to play with Dwight, or get a true superstar deal for him - if the Knicks were to offer Carmelo, I'd do it in a heartbeat. He's a superstar you can build around, and not just a bunch of good players that will help you be an 8th seed.Last edited by DonkeyJote; 03-14-2012, 04:37 PM.Comment
