Re: If There Was No Michael Jordan
i'd also put iverson up there for incredible ability to make contested lay-ups while being fouled, since that was essentially 90% of his forays to the rim.
i'd say kobe has had to make more tough, perfectly defended jumpers than jordan, though mike is probably second there. of course, that may be because jordan didn't have to since he got better looks, highlighting my point from before.Last edited by The15thunter; 11-29-2010, 12:20 PM.xbox gt - bmorerep87

Re: If There Was No Michael Jordan
I really think the Knicks would've gotten atleast 1 championship during the 1st threepeat if there was no Jordan. There was a year or 2 where they were probably the 2nd best team in the league. 91-92 was probably the best chance from the early 90's. I'd take the 92 Knicks with Ewing, Oakley, Mason, and X-Man over the Blazers that year. That was a really nasty, physical, intimidating front line. In the regular season they lost by 4 to Portland without Mason and then won by 11.As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Re: If There Was No Michael Jordan
When you think of breakfast, you think of bacon and eggs. When you think of Christmas, you think of Santa Claus. Thanksgiving? A turkey. When you think of Basketball, you think of Jordan.
It's hard for me to express in words just how great Michael was. How integral he was to not only the NBA, but to the game of basketball. In fact, if I began, I'd carry on log enough to fill a library, so I'll attempt to be short. Simply, If there were no Jordan, there'd be no Kobe.(Jordan was far and away a better player than Kobe, but we'll leave that alone for another time)
Music just made sense to Bach. To Beethoven. Words fell on paper like rain on the pavement for Faulkner and Shakespeare. Michelangelo, with a brush, stroked his dreams into reality. Take the above from their respective passions; Music, literature, and art. Where would those arts be? Where would we be? That, would be basketball, without Jordan.
Jordan was basketball as art. He was pure poetry in motion. There was a grace in his gait even when he was just walking to the bench after a timeout. Watching Bulls games in those days was much like watching a movie where an actress is so unbelievably beautiful that you can never take your eyes off of her when she is on screen.
When you marry that quality with his freakish athletic abilities, you've got the greatest player the sport has ever known. Throw in the "eye of the tiger" drive he had to beat the crap out of you that I've only seen in one other athlete (Tiger Woods) and you get what I consider to be the single greatest athlete, not just basketball player, I have ever seen in my life.Comment
