And I'm challenging your thinking. What's the problem again?
It's alright. I'm not saying you have no right to think what you think, but when you post it here...it's open season.
Also, nah. 70 is pushing it. 57 sounds fair, health notwithstanding.Comment

1. I also was in the boat of "Hornets will not be a top 4 seed"
However if you would have told me that Roy/Oden would be donezo, if Birdman/KMart/Nene would all be hurt and Melo in limbo then I probably would have give them more of a chance.
Still, Hornets have to get lucky and escape with minimal injury if they want to contend for a top 4 seed.
2. The Ariza for Collison trade I would say had to happen. You can't have someone of that value play behind a guy like Paul... he was just not going to see the floor. Better to trade for a starter in Ariza who is also defensive minded.
Now Jack is the perfect fit for a backup. He is not a starter by any means so he was playing sort of a different role in Toronto this year... he is much more suited to handle backup duties.. and would probably be a great fit with CP3 on the floor at the same time as well.Comment

There is a big difference in me thinking they aren't as good as they are and me saying that they will not be as good as they are.
Do you understand the difference? I don't like to be misquoted.Too Old To Game Club

Re: NO and Toronto are closing in on a trade *Peja and Bayless for Jack*
Getting back on topic, while I do like the fits of Jack & Anderson in NO rotation, I believe that they shouldnt mess with how things are shapping up right now ... I also dont like the incomming contracts, compared to the leaving ones ... I think they can get a better piece (pieces) for those asssets and if not, they should let those players go and welcome the payroll releif.
Some pieces that come to my mind that could be lured by Pejas expiring and those assets or others and sort of fit:
ATL - Ja. Crawford and/or Ma. Williams
SAC - Udrih and/or Dalembert
PHI - Iguodala and/or L. Williams
DET - Hamilton and/or Prince and/or B. Wallace
CLE - Mo. Williams and/or Jamison and/or Varejao
HOU - C. Hayes and/or Brooks and/or B. Miller and/or Patterson
Of course all bring us back to the wait and see approach, as some teams with little odds of making the playoffs might opt to reduce payrolls or to take a different direction and others might trade players that they feel wont be able to resign.Comment

I guess the deal is official according to ESPN.com
Not sure who tweeted this or reported this but: Biggest pro I don't see here is the nearly 12 million dollars saved (5 mil initial savings, 5 mil tax check, 2 mil reduction of lux tax payment). That might allow the Hornets to use an exemption in February to get another piece and/or do something with the flexibility plus Banks' expiring.Comment

Re: NO and Toronto are closing in on a trade *Peja and Bayless for Jack*
This is why the trade was done.....at first like most hornets fans i was highly scptical, but when reading this, i was yet again in awe of demps' genius thought pattern....remember most people doubted trading for willie green and jason smith....look how that one turned out for both teams involved looool NOH gets its 2 first guys off its reformed and re-energized bench, and phili gets 2 guys that have combined for 15 games on the season....lets not doubt demps just yet....Comment

Re: NO and Toronto are closing in on a trade *Peja and Bayless for Jack*
Yeah after thinking about it, Jack was a definite upgrade over Bayless. Having a solid back up PG is a win-win situation for this team because it enables them to still play well without CP3 and possibly shorten his minutes.
I love what Dell Demps has done so far, hard to question the moves he's already made so its safe to assume this could be another good one. Especially when there is still the possibility of another move down the line if they wanted to.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: NO and Toronto are closing in on a trade *Peja and Bayless for Jack*
Jack and Bayless have been traded for each other for 2nd time in 3 years. Based on how Jarrett Jack played while he was a Pacer I think the Hornets got the better end of this trade. But, it wasn't like Jack was a key piece to the Raptors future so, the trade works for them as well.Comment
