These are the precise reasons why the Dunk Contest should be taken out behind the woodshed and dealt with. I can guarandamntee there will be some superhero like theatrics. Kenny Smith is going to "Coach" Blake Griffin (This year all the contestants will have coaches) and he said something about Griffin reminding him of the "Incredible Hulk." Then he said that "is all I can say about it right now." With a smile on his face.

So just get ready for some purple shorts, ripped off sleeves, and green skin.

What the fudge do they need coaches for? Man...go back to the way it used to be! Have eight of the best dunkers in the league that acutally want to do the dunk contest and have them go at it.

Well the coaches things makes me want to vomit. I swear it seems like the NBA is trying to somehow sabotage their own contest. What is wrong with six dunkers dunking numerous times? Why did we need a wheel? Why must we use teammates? Why did they need to be under a certain age? Why did they allow the use of a phone booth? Why is there a flipping coach involved?

I honestly get the feeling that someone was once hired as NBA Dunk Contest Coordinator and that person realized long ago that his job was moot. He was getting a paycheck for letting players enter a contest and dunk. Therefore, he began coming up with half-baked ideas just to promote the idea to his superiors that his job actually had some sort of meaning because he was actually doing "things". There's no way someone logically thought the idea of subtracting the number of dunks and implementing coaches was good for the dunk contest.
