What has gotten into LaMarcus Aldridge?

This guy is killing the league right now!

Since December 15th, LA is on a tear, practically making this a career year for the guy.

Double double his last 3 games, 8 of his last 11 with 25+ppg, 7 blocks against Denver a week ago, his turnover numbers are down...

I can't believe there isn't a thread on him right now. One of the top players in the league as of late outside of the usual players being discussed. He certainly has picked it up since Roy went down.

Which leads to the obvious question... would LA do better on another team?

He needs to get out of Portland.

The team they tried to assemble is not there. Oden and Roy are done.

I think if ProjectRipCity was still on we'd know more about Portland as a whole.

He is not an authentic post scorer. When he posts he takes too long to survey the defense and he usually just ends up making a pass that gains no advantage. He doesn't really have any muscle moves in his game. Also, he mostly throws his hookers over his left shoulder. Defensively, Aldridge is an average man defender and a below average helper. Strictly a third tier star (with guys like Bosh, Granger,ect).

I think he's a solid starter not more than that.. certainly a beast tho in 2K11

So give me the best case scenario in Portland?
He stays out of team loyalty, and waits for the returns(cap room) of Oden and Roy. Matthews becomes a threat. McMillan gets fired? Camby gets traded and or older? Fernandez stays. Miller stays?

If your his agent what would u do? Will a blockbuster trade for a Superstar make them contender?

As it looks to me they are looking at ANOTHER 3/4 year re-building plan. By the time they look like contenders again, he'll be older and most likely trade bait. I'd rather see him on team that super close to turning the corner, where he could be the second scoring option, or be the Rasheed for a Pistons team that needs that extra player to get them over the top, even if he's no Rasheed Wallace.

He is a good player but this is as good as he'll ever get. He is scoring more because he is shooting more and the Blazers are running more screen/rolls than they did previously. His field goal percentage is down from last year and he averages more turnovers than assists. Sure, he is a deadly 15-20 foot jump shooter but that is not going to put alot of pressure on elite defenses.

I'm looking forward to seeing how he does against Miami on the 9th. He's definitely playing some great ball lately, and it looks like he's got a little swag going.

Would like to see him keep it up. Portland isn't going anywhere, much like everyone is saying right now... so we'll see if he's playing to get out of Portland. Who knows.

Definitely a talented guy though, and I'm glad to see him step it up.

He doesn't do well passing the ball but I'm sure that's something that can improve.

Either way, the kid deserves his due for his recent play.

Maybe because he doesn't have to immediately "find a way out" just because things are looking bad.

Instead of leaving, he can be part of the solution. Portland has shown plenty of times that they're talented enough to overcome big injuries.

LA has been ballin' as of late. He and Matthews have been huge bright spots for Portland. LA isn't going anywhere. Isn't he under contract for a few more years? He is young, healthy and talented and with him possessing those 3 traits it makes no sense for Portland to move him. They can't get anything comparable for him that would help Portland going forward.
