    Just a question...

I know that PG position is the most vital in the lineup because of various reasons. Though being as vital as it may seem, who was the last Superstar PG that took his team to the playoffs and win it all?

I'm thinking Isiah and before him, Magic.

historically, point guard is the least vital position.

I don't know about superstar, but Billups is probably the last PG to take his team to playoffs and win it all. Not by outstanding stats tho, but good leadership. Should count for something.

True. I can't say he was a superstar though, as the original post is looking for. I don't think Chauncey was even an All-Star at that point. Granted, he did an excellent job, but with that Pistons squad (and this is a good thing) it was hard to take one guy and say "Yep, he led them to the championship". If anyone was the rock, it most often seemed to be Ben Wallace. But they were all mutually responsible; a great team.

if he had won, Jason Kidd would have almost single handedly led the Nets to a title. but since he didn't win, I think I'll have to say Isiah, though he had a good bit of help.

But every superstar to ever win a championship had good help.

              Jordan had Pippen, Rodman, etc.

Lebron didn't have help, he didn't win.

                Nobody does it alone.

The NBA isn't build around parity like the NFL is so the same teams win titles. So as good as Stockton, Nash, Paul or Williams are their respective teams just are overpowered by better teams.

Well if you want to go the way of without help then not many PGs have carried their teams all the way, CP3 in '08 is prolly the only one recently without that much help that carried their teams the farthest and that was only to a game 7 in West Conference Semifinals
