Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
He most definitely had that Born feel. It was pretty clear he was a previously banned guy from the start. Or at least to me it was.
The mods knew it was him as well. That David Ortiz Debacle thread (I think that's what it's called) is in Steve's Forum. Click on that and see the hilarity that ensued.
Anyways, let's stop talking about this and get back to arguing over who the MVP is.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Damn, I just looked at his post history and yeah you're completely right. Born, you dog you. Still going back and forth with me about LeBron and the Lakers. He most definitely had that Born feel. It was pretty clear he was a previously banned guy from the start. Or at least to me it was.

It's a shame he can't be allowed to post here. Second chance, anyone, Mods? All because of that stupid NASA thread? I didn't see what happened in there but wow.
Anyway, yeah I really don't think there is further debate as to who should get the award. Dwight is second followed by whomever else you feel like throwing out there.Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
Agreed.
Anybody agree with this assesment that Dwight has done...'more with less' than Derrick Rose? I mean...I know Orlando hasn't lived up to expectations this season but...more with less? Really?

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
I would disagree that Dwight has less help than Rose. I mean, sure his two best teammates aren't exactly in their primes, but he has at the very least, adequate talent around him to at least get past the first round. Similar to Derrick Rose. They should get past the first round, but after that it gets cloudy, just like with Orlando.Agreed.

As far as the guy's overall point-- yes I agree with him. I'm going to let the season play out, but if we were to give out the award tonight, how can you honestly give it to Dwight over Rose? Maybe if Orlando only had a few less losses than Chicago, but it's closer to a double digit edge.
Sure Rose isn't putting up the best numbers, but they're still damn impressive. Wade/LeBron have prettier stat lines that's to be certain.
Actually I change my mind once again. To this point I'll still say Rose, but then it's followed by Dwight/LeBron/Wade
And as I said before, if Miami ends up #1, Rose might be in for some competition from James.Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
IDK about this. I think that stretch where LeBron bricked all those game-winning opportunities eliminated him from winning it.
He should still be in the conversation, but I don't think he should win it, if that makes sense.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
Your point, has been seen. I can't argue that, LeBron hasn't had MVP type moments, where Rose has [not that they were heroic type moments that will live forever in history, but he's done some things].
I still think this year has been relatively 'weak' in terms of individual greatness. Maybe we've been spoiled all these years, but I just can't pick one player out of the bunch. Even LeBron. For years I've said he's the best he's the best, but this year something just seems different with him, less "great".. even though he's put up stellar numbers.
I look at the field and I'm like, meh. Rose/LeBron/Dwight/Dirk/Wade/Kobe I mean it's all meh to me. Not to take anything away from whomever wins, but yeah.Comment

Most definitely agree with this and I've been thinking the same thing. This year is just a weak year when it comes to MVP candidates.Your point, has been seen. I've said it before and I'll say it in this post too, Rose is the MVP IMO and deserves it, but I just think that the rest of the competition isn't up to par like it usually is. If we put Rose's year this year in the MVP race from the last 2-3 seasons, I don't think he wins it. He'd still be up there in the race though, of course.
To me it just seems similar to the year Dirk won MVP, which is strange because this is one of the top 5 NBA seasons ever when it comes to quality games and competition, but I think this is a "transition year". So many guys have changed places that things are still being ironed out. LeBron going to Miami basically took him and Wade out as MVP winners, Kobe is getting up there in age, Dwight still needs to improve (although he has improved a lot this year) and become a player whose team isn't afraid to give him the ball in the clutch, Carmelo had one foot out of the door in Denver before the season started, etc, etc.Last edited by BlueNGold; 04-04-2011, 01:42 AM.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
This is coming from a Celtics Fan...My MVP is Kobe Bryant. The Guy knows how to close games,is arguably the best player on the planet,& no discussion is the best Leader in the sport of Basketball. When this Guy says Go,the Lakers have been unstoppable since the All Star game. D-Rose & Dwight Howard are a close tie for 2nd but D-Rose can't win it quite yet, because we don't know he's the main reason for there success cause Tom Thibodeau came in & now they're Winning a lot & playing Great D unlike before Thibodeau came in where Chicago with D-Rose was always a 4 or 5 seed. & Dwight Howard has been playing Great since he ripped his team, but Orlando won't be a 1,2,or 3 seed in the Easy East plus his leadership I question, will he permanently be this serious to win by ripping his team when they play poorly?or will he go back to being goofy & making people think he does'nt care? LeBron James is not even in the MVP talk to me for many reasons, not hating on the guy but he plays with 2 other Stars & Miami might only get 3rd seed in the East, not to mention he's not the Soul or leader of that Team, that's Dwayne Wades team. so Kobe Bryant is MVP to me,i mean the guy has only 1 MVP award,Are You Serious!? He should have at least 3,this is the only guy that Scares me & many fans of other teams when playoff time comes around because his Game is unpredictable. He could have a Game where he'll dish the ball most the time,or a Game where he'll hit these unbelievable 3 pt & mid range jumpers. He deserves MVP, he's having a good season, his team is fastly closing in on number 1 in the west,& he's there Leadership in all aspects of the game.nuff said.Comment

Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
Did you really just say Kobe is the best leader in basketball and there's no discussion about it? Really my man? Even if Kobe was a good leader (which he isn't) there is definitely discussion about him being the best in the league. Also, how does LeBron get DQed from MVP discussion from playing with another star while Kobe is your MVP who plays with Gasol, Odom and like the second best defensive player in the league? This is coming from a Celtics Fan...My MVP is Kobe Bryant. Wow. I hope you are being sarcastic. I would put Rose, Dwight, and Lebron before Kobe for MVP. Maybe even Durant. This is coming from a Celtics Fan...My MVP is Kobe Bryant. Only replying to this because someone else may be in a position to make a similar decision and I want to give them a little help. The "2nd chance" was used to create a fake account and not own up to it. Pretty simple.Damn, I just looked at his post history and yeah you're completely right. Born, you dog you. Re: Who is your NBA MVP as of right now?
D-Rose is probably the highest contender for MVP right now..Lebron isnt putting up the same numbers when he was on the Cavs because he has players on his team now..Rose has brought his team together and is doing everything now..he is a dominant and all-around player..not just a shooter or defender..all aroundComment

TOS clearly states this.
