Fun to imagine trading a malcontent to another continent.

I have NBA league pass and many of these arenas are half full. The NBA needs to tighten its product here in America before lookin abroad...IMO.

Canada was a massive FAIL. Fill the seats in America before branching out to London,Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris, etc.

        30 teams arent enuff?

Now a Overseas D-League is cool, but to make dudes play abroad during the season is doo-doo...imo. Jet lag is terrible for the game.

Well actually, I think Toronto is like the 7th most valuable NBA team right now.

So using money as a barometer, are u ok w/ The London Beavers w/ a bunch of loser bums, that make the NBA alot of money?

10 more teams abroad w/ questionable product for the sake of being "global"?

Not at all. I was just pointing out that having a team in Canada wasn't a

The NBA would be competing with the other pro leagues in Europe and theres a solid chance you might see a lot of Euros go to the NBA sooner, and be less of a mystery, since theyll have the opportunity to play over there.

I think one of the biggest problems could possibly be that you have a lot of American players that would rather play in the States (not all though) but it might happen enough where the Euro teams would be reluctant about drafting them. The end result could be having continental drafts.

The other thing is that this could conceivably be an alternative to contraction. The NBA could move its least valuable franchises over to Europe or wherever.

But before assuming the arenas would be empty in Europe based on Indiana being empty, one should actually look at how the professional teams do in the places likely to have NBA teams. The Italian Leagues and Spanish Leagues seem to do OK. And the prospect of playing American teams like the Celtics, Lakers, Bulls, etc, could make the NBA even more popular than the leagues over there.

I mean, whats a more splashy matchup, Rome vs the LA Lakers or Rome vs Rimini?

Could Memphis be filled before we worry about Rome?

It's going to suck for players who sign there. They will have to drive to the basket from the left side...

I don't know why you just assume that european cities couldn't support a team better than some US teams.

They have some big cities over there and also people with money.
