Played a little 3 on 3 today....a year after major knee surgery lateral movement is such a *****
Anyway, doesn't fit into the worst category, but after we were done I stayed after to put some shots up. In walks this BAD chick and starts shooting with me...I mean this girl is beautiful. She could play too! Said she plays overseas..We ended up playing like 5 games of 1 on 1, lol.Comment

Re: The worst pick up players.
Yeah, I think he's one of the most cliched types of pick-up players out there. The "Gear Guy", so to speak. Oftentimes, he'll be rocking all Jordan everything - shoes, shorts, cut-off, headband, double arm sleeves and optional calf sleeves. And as others have said, he's often terrible.
But I've been thinking about this for a while. Does he always seem terrible just because we tend to raise our expectations of one's abilities once we see them geared up? Would we be as disappointed with his play if he were wearing generic shorts and a white tee? Is it a matter of breaking the unwritten law of not super gearing up if your game isn't legit? And does or should gear insinuate skill?
I'm not an incredible player, but I'm good enough to be better than some people sometimes. I've considered intentionally super gearing up in certain instances, then dominating the comp., just to help dispel the street truth of super gear = disappointing play.
I don't think I've ever seen a player I've considered good wearing any kind of official NBA or college gear.
Now if I saw someone wearing a reversible jersey from a Nike or 5 Star camp, I might have that feeling... expecting a lot and easily disappointed.Comment

Re: The worst pick up players.
I've actually been dabbling with a sleeve throughout the winter due to what I'm guessing is tendinitis in my elbow. Recently, I usually experience pain in the ligament just about the elbow when I snap my arm on jump shots. It seems to subside a little as I get warmed up, so I thought maybe a sleeve would help encourage the warm-up process. As summer approaches though, I'm a little hesitant to go public with it.Comment

Re: The worst pick up players.
Havent played ball in so long. Used to play for my school back in middle school got to high school and just stopped. Played alot of pickup ball now dont play at all. But if there was one thing I hated in pickup games its the guy who wants to fight if it gets a little physical. We are playing basketball, bodies are gonna collide, especially in the paint. Stop whining. They always be like, "stop fouling me, stop fouling me, foul me again and im gonna hit you." Get off the court with that BS. As far as zones go didnt see much of them ran in pickup games. But most pickup ballers never played organized basketball and are actually terrible at the team aspect of the game. It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Re: The worst pick up players.
I have back problems and really tight hammys, the sleeves help with the circulation in my body so much and help loosen my back and legs so much - which is bizarre since they're on my arms. I wear them with t-shirts so it just looks like I'm wearing an undershirt."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The worst pick up players.
I always love playing with those guys who go "im open, im open" even though there all the way at the halfcourt line, then they get mad when you didn't pass to them cuz you knew they were just gonna go for a layup when theres like 5 guys waiting to block him.
I also love the guys who only make like 1of20 shots from the three point line, but will take every shot from there because they swear up and down that there better than all the rest at shooting three pointers.Lakers
