Lakers so close to that #2 seed, but more importantly, are also gaining ground on Boston. They had better hope they end up with a better record than Boston, because if LA is fortunate enough to make it to the Finals and Boston is there.... and they don't have home court...

Chicago or Miami I don't believe them having the HCA will prove too much to overcome, but I do think with Boston it might me. Not saying Chicago or Miami would lose in a series but the HCA wouldn't be the difference. for them

If Bynum keeps this up, HCA won't matter. It'll just be about playing well. LA can win on the road.

As an LA fan, I know all to well about if's and the name Andrew Bynum. LOL.

Still, Boston/Miami matchup with LA gives them fits, even with no Perkins. LA will have to worry about OKC in the second round though, that's gonna be their second toughest match up of the post season should they make the finals.

I know the East's second round is gonna be bananas, but the West playoff picture for the first round looks beautiful.

You got LA/Portland rivalry, you got Dallas/NO's they're somewhat rivals with players that don't like each other and then you have OKC/Denver which should be run and gun all day with Durant and company getting their first playoff series victory.

                  I'm ready for the playoffs.

I was just watching the ^^game^^ Bosh looks like a totally different player. But the Heat overall look nice. I've been saying it for a while now. But they are finally moving the ball around looking for easier shots. I even notice that Wade and LeBron were driving into the lane when their man left them to help. This is a way better tactic instead of having these career low 30's three point shooters jack bricks. LeBron is setting more picks now. But back to Bosh... he was really mixing it up and mixing it up very well. If they can get that type of balance (and ball movement). Man I would not want to play this team after a lose in a playoff series.

Also was just reading that Halsem started shooting around. He would bring some major toughness down low if they could get him back.

I think Portland will be a matchup problem if LA has to face them. They already had trouble with that team and adding Wallace makes it worse. As good as OKC is, I don't think they'll do one hair better than they did last year. Kobe was very hurt in that series and will play better this year. Odom is also having his best year. Westbrook is better, but not having a third scorer will offset the Perkins deal. This isnt true for all match ups, but I think it will hold true against LA. It's all about health bit they are healthy, the Lakers will be in the driver's seat in all of their matchups except for stopping the Heat in transition and beating the Bulls on the glass.

Been saying it for a while. If the Heat: stop letting Bron And Wade jack 3s, run more offense through Bosh and have Bron set more screens, they'll be a top level team. The only two things they can't overcome are teams who can out rebound them and top flight PGs. Unfortunately for them, the Bulls and Celtics fit both descriptions.

Portland? Sure they match up well against LA, but there's no way they'll win a series.

OKC has its flaws [interior scoring, and not enough scorers in general] but they have as good a chance as any other team in the west to knock LA off.

You can point to Kobe or even Drew being hurt last year, but I'm definitely not banking on that meaning LA then this year healthy should be that much better.

OKC has seen Serge/Harden make large leaps in their skill sets and of course you have the acquisitions of Nazr and Perkins to finally add some interior defense and rebounding that OKC needed last year.

Obviously Lakers should be in the driver seat in all match ups, they have supposedly the best team up and down on paper and chemistry wise. They have the first or second best coach and the best player in the world. Of course they're in the driver seat, they should be.

OKC's problem last year was not having outside shooting and no rebounding/interior defense. Not sure if Harden can maintain his pace from distance and I'm not sure if Perk/Serge/Nazr can overcome Pau/Andrew/Lamar, but if you can't see that being a close series I'm not sure what you're looking at.

Compared to the Spurs, OKC matches up much much better with LA.

I think you're underestimating the Bulls and the United Center. Call me a homer on this one, but the Bulls in front of that UC crowd especially if they were to get to the Finals? Against the Lakers? 20 years later? That place would be rocking and this team is definitely different at home and on the road. If the Bulls met the Lakers in the Finals without HC I'd give them pretty much a snowball's chance in hell of winning that series. Flip it around and I give them a slight edge.
