Derrick Rose is fairly good at playing basketball

Unfortunately the media has overhyped him so badly that no one realizes he's actually been way below the standards he put up early on. But, hey whatever, MVP was wrapped up in December apparently.

No one said that. But when Amare and Carmelo don't score in the 4th quarter, your problem for the night is NOT defense.

Agreed, Jets. Seems like people don't know anything besides harping about the defense, since it's what's been engrained over years and years of people and media bashing flashy offenses.

This loss was on offense. Plain and simple.

Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that other than tonight, their Defense IS bad and has little to do with what happened years and years ago.

But what I do know is that in the 4th quarter, one team was hustling it's *** playing with alot of energy and one team wasn't. Defense may not have been THE reason tonight(big shocker right there)but in key moments of the game, they could've used a stop or two when it did matter in the game.

And as a matter of fact, didn't the SAME thing happen last time Boston was in NY? Where the Knicks had double digit lead and then blew that lead as well or was that just tonight?

For the first 3 quarters? no...

However the defense in the 4th was simply bad...

Ill agree the offense was. a problem in regards to all the horrible shot attempts...but they had a 10 point lead no?

You have to think if they play a ounce of D, they hold Boston off or at the least provide the offense with opportunitys...

Wait what? Why do people hate defense so much in this forum? So if you have a double digit lead it's more important to the cause of winning for you to score points than get stops? If I'm up double digits in the fourth and I've gotten all the stops I wanted to, I'd think I would win the game. There are nights for every team in the league where your shots just aren't going to fall, that's where you need to be able to rely on your defense to carry you through. The offense certainly was a problem down the stretch, but to say the lost was on the offense and not the defense is just wrong. If your defense breaks down in the last five minutes of the game then you really may as well had've just not played defense the other 43 minutes since the same result is likely in the end.

Edit: when you don't rebound..that's a clear sign of no defense.
