    I have no idea what's wrong with the Celtics, but Rondo IMO hasn't been aggressive like I've seen him in the past.

    I think they'll be fine come playoff time.

      It's true. Rondo's aggressiveness is almost always the determinant of the Celtics winning.

        You have "no idea"? They traded Kendrick Perkins, he was important on and off the court to the team. The Celtics haven't been the same since that awful season ruining trade. And it just gets worse and worse, as they lost to the Heat for the first time this season last night. I'm now rooting against the Celtics because a lesson deserves to be learned from the move they made.

          If Glen Davis didn't take so many damn jumpers and Rondo was aggressive, the Celtics' problems would be cut in half. I hope Doc can do something about this.

            Yeah, he was a big part. But I'm concerned with the offensive side because it seems like they forgot to play some offense. There not as efficient. I know they would lose some Edge on the D side but I thought Offensive would improve slightly.

                Basically.

                Smh @ people claiming the Perkins trade is why the Celtics are playing so poorly. Perkins was moved under the premise that the team had been just as good if not better while starting Shaq. Shaq has played 5 minutes since the trade. There is your difference. If Shaq is starting and giving the Celtics 20+ mins a game in the playoffs they'll be right back there in June.

                    It goes beyond that bro.

                    Watching "The Association" today, had the episode where Perk got traded, and jesus I knew they took it hard but I didn't realize they were that shaken up by it.

                    You can't put a price on championship chemistry. Just because they were OK without him and won a few regular season games doesn't mean he's expendable by any means. They basically lost a brother.

                    Doc/PP/KG wear their hearts on their sleeves and they probably are still recovering from losing him. Doc said he was like son to him.

                    They don't believe in Shaq. I can tell you that 100%. Especially when you contrast that to their assumption that Perk was gonna be back and 100% once the playoffs rolled around.

                    They're still reeling from that trade IMO. I know I said it before, but to think Shaq/Jermaine/Kritic/Murphy/Big Baby are gonna be able to get you a title is pretty ballsy. Green still hasn't convinced me he can help this team in any way.

                      This. And if you're gonna take that leap of faith by trading for Green and unloading Perkins, don't unload Erden and Harangody too. Those guys had size and seemed like the kind of guys that would fit into the Celtics system imo (meaning they know when to get out of the way and know how to play their part).

                            Dang, I'd much rather face Philly than Indy in a playoff series.

                            Since getting their new coach, they seem to be much happier. They're on the right track with a winning formula in the post season.

                            Granger-superstar
                            Hibbert- decent post presence
                            Semi Robin- Collison
                            Capable [seems like he is] coach

                            They need to figure out if Tyler is gonna be their permanent starter. They need to add a true Robin. Move George to the bench to solidify the 2nd unit. George/McRoberts/Dunleavy is decent support.

                              I hear all that and sure Rondo's slump and the post trade malaise reflected that time, but I don't see the current inconsistency as a lingering effect of the trade. Strictly speaking on the court, the Celtics are much different with Shaq/Perkins in the middle than they are currently. Not to mention that the C's defense really hasn't slipped much if any, rather its their offense that has been mired in the 80s (outside of shooting lights out vs the Spurs). Rondo's reduced aggressiveness and the lack of size at the 5 with no Shaq/Perkins, far too few shots for Ray (and far too few solid screens to free him [which goes back to no Shaq/Perkins]) are key culprits. Chalking it up to emotional distress from a trade does the team a disservice IMO.

                              I don't think its ballsy at all to think the frontcourt pf Shaq/Jermaine/Green/Baby/Krstic can win a title. I question your statement that they don't believe in Shaq, as I thought the chemistry with Shaq was comparable to chemistry with Perkins -- on the court. Shaq only played 5 minutes last sunday but he fits in so well with the Celtics that I can see him starting the playoffs without missing a beat. I see Shaq/Jermaine splitting the center minutes with Krstic getting maybe 8-12 mpg. Shaq has looked very good all year long (figuratively) with the starting five, and since his return Jermaine has looked like last year's version with fresh legs. Perkins is great at what he does but provided Shaq & Jermaine combine to give you 30+ minutes and Jeff Green spells Pierce and plays aggressively, he is somewhat expendable. That's 3 big ifs and a somewhat at the end but still.

                              As far as Green, its up to Doc & the 2nd unit to figure out how to effectively utilize his talents. All we've seen so far is that he plays well with Rondo and can post up 3s. Just keep Glen Davis under 4 shots outside the paint each game and that rotation is good. We just haven't seen it yet.

                              Murphy is pure insurance. I'm almost mad you threw him in the rotation and Green under the bus I don't care how good his Casper impersonation was last year.

                              For the C's purposes
                              Murphy >= Harongody
                              Krstic >= Erden

                              Perkins trade really can't be judged until you see how the O'Neals finish out the year. If a healthy (enough) Shaq isn't in the flop, then yeah, bad gamble.

                                LA gonna let Fisher guard Thabo and put Kobe on Westbrook.

                                That could be interesting. If they started Harden, they'd burn that matchup but would lose the defense of Thabo on Kobe.
