Yeah they did play up on him, and it made more sense too. This is why the comparison is so bad. The only thing the 2 have in common is court vision. Magic is 6'9". He started his first championship game at center. He's literally played every position on the court. Part of his legend is what he was able to do at his size. He was never all that fast but he always had some kind of advantage over whoever guarded him. That isn't even close to Rondo. They play off of Rondo bc he can't hit the side of a barn with a rock but also bc he's very quick and can get at the rim. Magic didn't have that quickness. They played off of Mugsy and Avery like that but not Magic. When the Lakers got in a half court set, Magic was very much a part of the "scoring" team out there. Rondo looks lost in a half court set unless he can drive by his man... which he can still do at times. Their approaches to the game are very different.

If Rondo ever developed a jumpshot he'd be a HOF. He's already at Jason Kidd levels in terms of making others better prior to his improving his jumper. Rondo's court vision is one of the best in the game.
As of right now though, Rondo is Rondo, he ain't Kidd, he ain't Magic... and will be a liability if the C's ever go into rebuilding mode with him as a focus piece. The kid has got to get some respectability on the offensive side outside of dishing the ball and being quick. It just won't be enough..Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
I will say this though, this past series his jumper was consistently good when it NEEDED to be. Now not being able to make 85-90% of his FTs consistently, now there's no excuse for that but his jumper was good consistently in this series.#RespectTheCultureComment

That is exactly what the Bulls needed to do. Jump out to a big lead and quit letting the Pacers get comfortable.Ryan Spencer

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - First Round Discussion Thread
You would think a guy who went to Duke would know how to at least play help side defense. He's always too slow to get to where he needs to be and not in position. I know he's a bad defensive player but when he's not scoring it seems to be magnified by a million.
On a side note, Rose's ankle looks fine.
Ugh. Come on Deng. You can't foul Jones on a three. Horrible play."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

Alright Bulls! Good start. Let's put these boys to bed and look forward to the second round.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Guess Atlanta would prefer to close it out at home instead of in Orlando.#RespectTheCultureComment
