Which pair of teammates would you take for the next 5-8 years?
Russ and KD or LBJ and D-Wade? Personally, I'd take Russ and KD but I wanted to see what you guys think and why...."In the morning he would read the Bible with another coach. Then, in the afternoon, he would go out and cheat kids who had probably saved up money from mowing lawns to buy those raffle tickets. That's Jim Tressel."Tags: None -

Westbrook will never be in Wades league. Unless injuries slow Wade down he will always be much better then Westbrook for the next 5-8yrs. Durant is close to LBJ an may very well be a better scorer but LBJ does everything else better an I don't see that changing within the next 5-8yrs soo

Wade and Lebron, individually, are better than Durant and Westbrook. I'd take the latter group though because their playing styles better serve one another. One doesn't need the ball to be dominant.
Furthermore, Wade is sure to fade in at least three years. He's getting older, and his game is dependent upon his athleticism.Comment

Wade and LeBron... They make more plays defensively then the other pair. Russell makes most of the plays on defense. Kevin Durant isn't bad defensively (probably more solid).Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Russell and KD.
In eight years they will be the better players. Not historically, per se. But, on the court in 2019.
I think LeBron will have to change his game more once his athleticism starts to fade. I think Durant is more fundamentally sound overall, and that will benefit him more in the long term.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 04-18-2011, 09:50 AM.Comment

Wade and Bron.
Like most elite players, Bron and Wade will evolve their games to still be effective as they mature.
I would like to see an improvement in Russ and Durants IQ before I would take them....I dont want my PG passing up some of the opportunitys I see Russ pass up on a regular basis...I would also like to see Durant work on his body and shot selection.Comment

It would do Westbrook well to spend a summer with Chris Paul. Increase his basketball IQ, learn to better set up his teammates, become more composed, etc.
LeBron is LeBron. In my opinion, he has one of the more complete games in the NBA. Wade, I think, has peaked. From here, it's downhill. His game is far too dependent upon his athleticism.Last edited by Bumi; 04-18-2011, 11:37 AM.Comment

^^ I totally agree ^^
Who do you think uses their athleticism more? Westbrook or LeBron?
In my opinion, Westbrook use it way more then LeBron does. Sometimes he just charges out of control towards the rim. Like the guy above me said. He needs lessons from CP3Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Um... Westbrook probably. His entire game is fueled by his athleticism. LeBron's use to be the same, but his game is much more refined than it once was.Comment

Westbrook and KD. I just always like an outstanding PG. Despite Lebron being the best in the game right now, I feel Wade's gonna tail off the next 3 years.Lakers | Michigan | DodgersComment

Re: Which pair of teammates would you take for the next 5-8 years?
I love CP3 (have since he was at WF) and agree with another post that he's a top 5 player without the knee issues. I think any PG could learn from him, however I don't think it's as clear cut as Westbrook needing to be more like him. Westbrook is MUCH more athletic than Paul. He's out of control quite a bit but he attacks the rim because he can. He definitely needs to refine it a bit but at his hypothetical best, he'd be more dangerous scoring than Paul. I don't think his shot will ever get to Paul's level... and again, partly bc he doesn't have to rely on it as much. He's a different kind of player.Comment

Re: Which pair of teammates would you take for the next 5-8 years?
I think in a year or two D-wade and Westbrook will be a wash. Maybe even advantage Westbrook. I also think Durant's game will age better than Lebron's because it isn't really built on his athletism. Durant has a legit shot at 50-40-90 one of these years. I don't know how Lebron's game will age because it's built mostly on athletism right now. Maybe he'll adapt, maybe he won't. Thing is, I know Durant's game will age well. Shooting is usually the last thing to go. That's why I'll take Durant and Westbrook over Lebron and Wade for the next 5-8 years.NFL - Vikings
