    NBA Changing of The Guard

It feels like one of the powerhouses is going to get knocked out.

Are the new jacks kicking out the old powers?

Are we entering a new era?

    Are these Playoff the Mark/Shift?

Denver might be remixed but I place them w/ the Lakers/Spurs/Celtics as teams that have been in the mix for the past 10 years.

Celtics being the exception since they came together in the latter 00s, but the core is "old".

We entered a new era after the 2010 Free Agency. At least that's how I feel.

BTW no this isn't a "the players have too much control now/inmates are running the asylum" post. I'm referring to all of the stars changing places and teams like the Knicks becoming relevant again along with the Bulls becoming a contender again. Almost all of the "key" markets are in a good place now. Philly is really the only one lacking but even they're playing well as of late.

I mean, did you expect LA/SA/Boston to reign forever

It happens, athletes get old. Youngins become vets.

It is interesting though, to see how things are unfolding after game 1. Not a lot went according to plan.

Fringe teams go up and down by a couple of W/L's and make those spots rotate on a yearly basis. Really isn't anything new. Hell, NO was an elite team just a few years ago and OKC is consistent with last year. If you're talking about changing of the guard then that means the teams at the TOP of the league. The only ones mentioned here are Detroit (haven't been near the top in a while now) and Cleveland (we all knew that was the case).

Looks like business as usual to me.
