Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - Second Round Discussion Thread
Haslem and Shaq is huge for both teams. But for the C's Shaq will help clog the Middle and they won't get those easy baskets. also Improves the Bench a bit.
Should be a good game 3.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

Doc should put Troy Murphy in the game just to deck LeBron. Doesn't matter if he gets suspended and kicked out....dude isn't playing anyway.
Nah, I'm just playin. But that would be funny.Comment

Extra hustle and defense they can use.
and if hes hitting his shot, its a huge boost for MIA....
Shaq is a presence man, hell def help secure rebounds and create post up opps...
MIA will pick and roll the heck out of him though...Comment

Haslem hasn't played since what...September/October? I wouldn't expect to see much from him at all since you're basically asking him to go from sitting in a Suit/Tie for 8+ months to getting in playoff mode against Boston?
I'd be shocked to see anything significant from him in Game 3.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - Second Round Discussion Thread
Thats why I listed his shot as a bonus...thatll most likely be off
As long as hes comfy banging, he should perform his usual glue guy duties decently
might be a step slow on D
I think if a guard like Jameer Nelson can do it, he can. We will see!Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - Second Round Discussion Thread
You talking about the year they went to the Finals? If I recall, I don't think he really helped his team out that year because even he was still struggling out there.
I don't know...it'd be one thing if he was coming back in the last series, even playing sparingly but to go from sitting around to playoff mode like that? That's gonna be a hell of an adjustment but like you said, we'll see.#RespectTheCultureComment

All I know is Haslem consistently knocks down that 13 ft shot on the baseline every time he plays Boston.Comment

I never like bringing in players back from injury into the playoffs.Especially when a team is playing well. If it's not broke don't fix it. The heat have been playing well lately.
But I will say big men have an easier time adjusting then compared to the situation with nelson and orlando a few years bad

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - Second Round Discussion Thread
Shaq's main impact will be that Glen Davis plays less and that's huge.
Big Baby tries hard, but Miami attacked the hoop way too easily when he was on the court + he was painfully bad on the boards and in the post.
Shaq would / will give them balance if he plays...The O'Neals will share the C spot and Baby can back up KG.Comment

It remains to be seen if Doc Rivers will actually get Shaq's 15 minutes from Davis or if he'll do something inane like cut into Jeff/Jermaine minutes. I'd just like the Celtics to finish the game with the starting five instead of having Davis out there at the end. Dude is all too happy to take go to player shots while sharing the court with 4 all stars.Comment

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - Second Round Discussion Thread
Can we already speculate about the NBA finals aka who will the Heat or Bulls face?
This really seems to be the end for the Celtics as legit title candidates with the big 3. Before the season I tipped the Heat as champions but I hadn't thought they would beat the Celtics so easily.
I guess we can see the same about the Lakers in the West. I think they are done for the coming years. Jackson will leave, Bryant, Artest and Fisher are getting up in age, you can expect Bynum to have knee issues again etc., so unfortunately I can't see Bryant winning a 6th title.
The Mavs against the Heat or Bulls? No way are Kidd and co quick enough to stop either Rose or Wade/James.
Conclusion: I'm hoping for the Thunder to reach the finals because their young legs might be able to do something against the Heat or Bulls.Comment
