"Changing of the guard" in the NBA

do you think its in full effect?

While I think LA and BOS will be around for a short time longer.....Im pretty excited about the teams of the future..

we have the team to hate in MIA
we have the team everyone loves in OKC

    CHI
    MEM etc.

Some exciting young teams on the come up.....

If Miami adds another quality piece, then they could win 8 rings.

im real interested in seeing what happens with OKC and MEM.

both of them could be around for awhile with exciting young talent.

plus the clippers (yes the clippers) could be in the hunt in a year or 2.

and im eager to see who beats miami year after year lol

Depends on what happens with this new CBA, IMO.

That's why it's hard for me to get excited about the future.

It's amazing seeing the perennial contenders (LA, SA, and likely BOS) all being upended by the younger teams in this postseason. I, too, hope the upcoming labor battle doesn't derail the league. The future is bright.

Yeah cant really say yet until after that CBA

Then we'll have to watch NY, Dwight, CP3, Deron, if Chicago can get a SG

interesting times ahead indeed...and a welcome change IMO

I'm pretty excited seeing some 'old' favorites beat (la, bos, spurs).

however, I'm not too fond of okc or bulls

memphis though are the hero of the year

                one more thing..

with all those 'winds of change', new champ and general excitement it would be a shot in its own foot for stern not to reach consensus with the players' union

OKC and Chicago will be dominant when their star players reach their primes. I do agree as well that the Clippers will be very entertaining to watch.

Donald Sterling will find a way to **** it up somehow.

Re: "Changing of the guard" in the NBA

The future is definitely Miami...with Chris Paul and Dwight Howard basically deciding if there's going to be any competition. Paul on the Knicks = legit rivalry. Dwight on LA = legit rivarly. If Paul and Dwight stay where they are = Miami dynasty to the point most people won't care about the NBA...

OKC could be a genuine contender for the next five years but sadly, I think OKC is way too small a market to compete...and it's definitely way, way too small for 'two' superstars.

I think we'll see Marbury / KG mark two...with Durant the guy left on his own and frustrated this time.

I think OKC is going to be a monster, especially if Ibaka keeps developing at this rate. It's scary to think that he hasn't even been playing bball for that long.

WTF is this Dwight to LA nonsense? That's whats hot in the streets now?

Though i can easily see OKC being the kryptonite to the Heatles in the coming years.

Memphis looks like it'll be strong as does ATL and Chicago.

Honestly though, WTH would Dwight have around him in LA?

Kobe is on his way out, and certainly Pau or Andrew would be gone.

They would be rebuilding around Dwight...

Not that Dwight is even coming to LA though, so what I said up there is just to play along in the dumb game.

Big market teams always seem to be able to get guys though man...you put Dwight on that team and all the young guys in the league think "big man, LA, parties, stars...I want that!".

It's not like he'd be playing for the Bucs or T-Wolves...and I apolgise to fans of those teams, but it's just reality good or bad.
