Webber gets off easy!

The justice system is pitiful. Sentencing in two years? Why? So he can do community service and "show" he's paid his dues? When he gets "sentenced" in two years he'll just get more community service and that's it. He lied to a grand jury and he get a slap on the wrist. The justice system is a joke!

Simple, If you have money and fame--you can do whatever you want. They are not your normal JOE. Only, low profile celebs get in trouble--hig file celebs get away with a lot more! Reality. Sucks but it's always been that way.

By the way, it's not like Webber killed anybody or raped anybody. So he took some cash and lied about it, not a big deal--that happens in College Sports these days--just they got sloppy. I'm sure a lot more blue chip athlethes are getting something besides just a full ride. Webber did a lot for Michigan and literally put them on the map in the early 90's as a basketball powerhouse. I'm sure he made that school more money than he accepted. I still like the guy, he's ok in my book.

i don't think anybody should be investigated for dumb shi like this. find tupaca killer or something stop wasting time on college kids WHO NEED MONEY. The schools make so much money off them they should be paid.

Players do get paid, they get paid with a free ride and a college education. I wish my college education was free.

And as far as Webber. I beef isn't about the fact that he got paid while in college, hell I wouldn't be surprised if every player in college right now wasn't getting paid somehow. The problem I have is that he LIED to a grand jury. He lied to the law. Nobody can defend this. He broke the law and got off.

And before someone says, "you have a problem with him breaking the law, but not as much of a problem of him taking money." Paying players is such a wide spread activity nowadays you can't really argue it cause you just can't stop it. But Webber lying on a grand jury is something he did on his own and because he's a celebrity he's getting off easy.
