The Spurs are closed now, but they will be contenders again in 2 years. They have plenty of young guys to work around. Blair is an extremely effective scorer-rebounder, he just doesn't get the minutes or touches. Jefferson can be more consistent given more freedom. Neal is an insane shooter at just a rookie while George Hill looks to be the primary passer.

Now they just need the veteran depth they had in the chmpionship years.

boston can play the same basketball for another year they need a healthy young center that defends
spurs need to remove jefferson and get another small forward back and they have splitter for starting center next year.

Spurs are done for the near future, but they are so well run as an organization it is hard to see them bottoming out completely.

I see them being one of those teams that is able to hover around 6-8 seed status, in the near term.

Boston, is different. Boston played their chips and have cashed out.

It was worth it, because they got a title out of it. Damn near got themselves two.

Father Time is now banging on the door to collect his cut.

When it comes time to pay the bill in full, it is going to look really, really ugly.

Blair is way too small to consider building around. He can be a solid bench player but he'll always be a liability on D. I see Neal as a permanent role player as well.

George Hill has a little more upside than those other two but he's still more of a really small 2-guard than an effective point guard.

RJ is a bum and has no future with the team.

I think the window is closed for this Spurs era, and I'd like to see Splitter and the other young guys getting more serious minutes just to test the waters. Hopefully James Anderson gets some good minutes next year as well.
