Was thinking about Rodney on another forum this morning:

Yeah, I'm not usually a big hype guy in real life. During Anderson's senior year at Kalamazoo Central, a lot of my friends and players were hitting up his games and raving about what they saw. I wasn't really a believer, thought they were just transfixed by a high school player who dunked on a regular basis.

I finally got to see him play at the state finals that year at the Breslin. And I have to be real, he was the most electrifying leaper I've ever seen live in front of my eyes. When he broke into the open floor, you could feel the entire building standing and anticipating. It was pretty righteous. Of course, the flipside to all of this was the fact that he spent most of the game in the corner, waiting for back door lobs or bum rushing the basket looking for tip dunks (which I personally had no problem with, ha). But I'll be curious to see how much his game has developed in the two years he spent at Mott Community College in Flint. Again, he's headed to the Horizon League (Detroit Mercy) in the fall.

Edit: This is actually a pretty perfect synopsis of his high school career. Chill out until someone else makes a move, then capitalize. That corner was his runway.

Okay, those crossovers was too controlled and sharp for it to have been luck.

Props to VanGundy for still keepin' his skills sharp.

I really liked this Dallas team for some reason. Maybe it was Tim Hardway.

                    Re: Highlight Reeling

Funny story...tonight I sat down and showed my 6 year old a bunch of old Michael Jordan highlights. He had been asking about him and wanted to see how good he was. At the end of the highlights he said, "He was good, but I have a question...how come he was allowed to push and pull the defender all the time? I thought that was against the rules." Michael's my all time favorite, but man, out of the mouth of babes!

That's why I'm going to show my kids full games. Highlights just show the wrong thing in the long run. Just my opinion.
