Whether he does admit it or not, the media sure as hell makes every single minor injury look like a career ending one to show that he is the hero that fights through it.
I'm not trying to show myself as a Kobe ***** although I dislike him, but the guy is past his peak, he's on a downslide and no longer number 1.

            1. LeBron James - Yes, even after his NBA Finals performance he still holds this spot.

            2. Kobe Bryant - The oldest guy on this list, by far if you count the number of games. Yet, I wouldn't count this guy out of anything, his work ethic and will to win are head and shoulders above everyone else on this list.

            3. Derrick Rose - He still has many offensive improvements to make but Derrick Rose is the leader in a new breed of point guards.

            4. Dirk Nowitzki - The ultimate offensive weapon.

            5. Kevin Durant - He keeps getting better and don't be surprised if he moves up on this list, way up.

            6. Dwyane Wade - I saw flashes of the legendary Wade in The Finals, but not enough to carry the Heat to the championship.

            7. Dwight Howard - The most influential defender in the league and by far and away the most dominant big man in the paint.

            8. Chris Paul - The best pure point guard in the NBA. Injuries and a bad supporting cast have hindered him but he will be on a title contender eventually.

            9. Carmelo Anthony - Oh, if only he played defense.

            10. Russell Westbrook - If Westbrook can cut down on his turnovers and bad shots he would be even better and much more effective.

Re: Top-10 Players in the NBA

Kob can easily reinvent himself if he puts his ego aside. He could still be top 5-6.

His lingering issues with the shooting finger and knee have obviously effected him. He'll never have the explosion or burst again but should his finger and knee finally get to an acceptable percentage, his midrange/post game could still keep him in the top 5-6 range. He still has all the fundamentals/IQ to get to sweet spots on the floor, and if he doesn't remain a volume shooter, but instead dedicated himself on adjusting his game in the twilight of his career-- I could see an entirely different but "better" Kobe.

No the lockout won't make him any younger, but it will give him a chance to keep getting used to shooting with that banged up hand and hopefully recover a lot in that knee. It's up to him if he wants to still be a gunslinger and force his way to the basket in traffic or if he wants to morph into a deadly midrange shooter who also makes his living with his back to the basket.

I don't know if he'll tone the shots down but it's clear that his face up/attack game isn't what it was nor will it ever be what it was. Regardless if he uses his teammates properly he could really still be a legit elite of the elite player.

I'm really going to need to you two to explain the rationale behind Derrick Rose being above Dirk, Dwight, and Wade? Heck, Durant even?

Furthermore, how is Dwight not top 5?

Agreed. Rose had a great year and is a top 10 player, but to put him #1 because he won MVP (especially after the extremely mediocre postseason performance he had) is ridiculous. He isn't in those other players' league.

I like that list. But I just can't put Derrick Rose over CP3 right now. Even though Derrick put in work this last season and won the MVP. I still feel as though CP3 is better than him.

Not you... Just in general. I saw a few post with Derrick like in the top 5-8 players. But I don't think he is a top 8 yet. Maybe 10-15.

Dirk averaged 27.7 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 48.5% FG, 46% 3FG, 94.1% FT in the playoffs this year. And posted a 16-6 record.

No way should Rose be ranked above him.

How you have Kobe and Rose over Wade, Nowitzki, Howard, and Paul is beyond me. You stated Kobe is the oldest so that already should put him out of the top 5 cause he's clearly on the decline and anyone that thinks he's still top 5 doesn't know the game of basketball. Having Rose in your top 5 is ridiculous not to mention top 3. You saw the legendary Wade in the Finals? That's correct but he's sixth? He should be no lower than third especially considering he could've won the MVP on the losing team cause clearly he was the MVP on both teams. Being injured- Dallas. His play- Heat. Rose is all hype dude is not better than Chris Paul at anything besides driving and finishing.
