Who gains the most with no season?

The other thread was talking about what teams lose the most, and what players lose the most if there's no season. What about who gains the most with no season?

Don't know player wise, but this is probably biased that I think the Raptors might gain the most out of this lockout. Unforuntately the NBA lockout won't have the same affect that the NHL one did where it turned many bad teams into playoff contenders, but it could add a salary cap? Or at the least, it'll fastforward things.

Look at the Raptors. They finished with 3rd worst record in NBA so if there's no season, we could be seeing them with another top pick in the draft.

Also, Celtics have KG and Allen with expiring contracts which could be expired if the seasons cancelled. They will also get their 2011 draft pick to play for them since he said before the draft that he wasn't playing in NBA for 2011/2012 season. So the 2012/2013 Raptors could very well have 2 top 5 picked rookies on the roster, as well as lots of money to spend on players and a team that dominated the division possibly not having one(or two) of their big 3 players back.

I'm confused reading this. You seem to be talking about the Celtics, then the Raptors, back to Celtics?

imo none of the teams win if there is no season...

old teams get older as their already closing window for a championship is further closing
e.g. celtics, Mavs, Lakers, Spurs etc.

and young (rebuilding) teams lose a season of developing and evaluation of their players
e.g Wiz, Raps, Kings etc.

altho the teams that were bad last year could be benefited in getting another high pick, so it's slightly better for a young (bad) team then an old team...

The only team that I can even remotely make a case for is the Portland Trail Blazers

Greg Oden gets a full year to rehab and strengthen his legs with no pressure to return to the team. Brandon Roy also gets the same year to rest his knees and rehab and strengthen them further.

It's very difficult to come back from an injury.
It's even harder to come back from an injury without a medical staff guiding you to the best recovery possible.

I don't know how much rest would help these guys without a medical staff leading them.

Something tells me that these dudes can afford to have a Doc check them out from time to time and hire a trainer to help them strengthen their limbs.

They get the best trainers and Docs for free when they play, so they are not gaining they are losing money for paying for new docs and trainers, even though I understand they can afford it. Maybe some physical therapists in the L.A. area stand to gain the most (wink,wink Kobe) lol.
