May as well stand outside the arenas on game night and have people burning they're money in giant piles. You actually have to buy a ticket to go to MLS games. An NBA owner see me going to MLS games for a month straight and he's not going to be hurt, he's only going to think about how much of an idiot that I am because I'm wasting my money on crap in some backwards scheme to upset him.

People DO have (some) power when united. Shame we rarely do anything worthwhile with it.

Unfortunately the NBA labor negotiations aren't some utopian fantasy. They can stand hand in hand for days on end and it wouldn't give them the slightest leverage.

Dirk said if the lockout extends into 2012, then he's going to Europe to play. Just saw that on SC.

I know you were joking but seriously this lockout has really shifted my focus to soccer. All the European leagues started up at the end of August and the MLS is growing nicely, they have pretty rabid fan bases in the Northwest.

I'm pretty new to soccer but the more I learn about it the more similarities to basketball I see.

I don't want to get way off topic here but the NBA is leaving a void right now, it can't ever hurt someone to diversify their sports interests.

The six-game, four-continent exhibition tour of the biggest basketball players in the world has entered the contract phase, according to sources.

Fourteen of the 18 players who have been approached have signed contracts. The remaining four are expected to be completed on Sunday night.

Derrick Rose, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are expected to appear.

The tour is scheduled to start with a game Oct. 30 in Puerto Rico and include two games in London, one in Macau and two, back-to-back, in Australia.

The players will be paid salaries ranging from six figures up to $1 million, sources have told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard.
