I think there is a real possibility lockout ends today, as I've been convinced owners will give on some system issues in exchange for BRI.

Key factor is level of horse-trading that's realistic: owners might push beyond 50-50 for types of system concessions players want.

All of a sudden guys like Jason Kapono comes out of sky blue talking about how he wont be bullied and so on

That's why Stern called the guy devisive and he's right, hence his last stints with the nfl.. the guy is a cancer to the process
Makes sense. I also forgot that the players once complained that they hadn't even met Kessler. So that makes even more sense why the union hired him: it wasn't for the players' best interest.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

            Im surprised about OKC.
            Regarding OKC:

Our own Royce Young in OKC says regarding the Thunder: "From what I understand, OKC's willing to go with the flow, but ultimately, wants basketball back as soon as possible. The Thunder's terrified about this lockout doing long-term damage to the fanbase."

God please let today be the day. Whatever it takes to put an end to Courtside Cinema on NBAtv and the end of The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh.

              Also that's hilarious 24th

Well I would think this meeting is either good or bad news.

This isn't a "well meet again tommorow" type scenario I would think...

I hope this dude is wrong

Reason for pessimism: If (according to Kessler) the "real" cap on the BRI split that the players could possibly enjoy under the league's latest proposal--assuming very favorable revenue growth--is only ~50.2%, then will the owners REALLY be willing to concede much on the system issues only for that 0.2%?

Also, the league's latest proposal had a 49-51 band, meaning that the players' share of BRI could go down to as low as 49% if revenue shrunk greatly enough. With the backlash against both sides over this lockout, it is entirely possible that the league faces an uphill battle to get revenue growth back on track. Hence, a "straight 50/50 split" proposal from the players may actually be WORSE for the owners, in a sense, then what the owners have offered.
