After calling deal within "striking distance" a few weeks ago, union's determined to under sell progress to keep players off rollercoaster.

Okay. Progress made on 3 of 5 system issues, according to source. MLE still a problem. And a couple of new issues added to mix.
daldridgetnt David Aldridge
Not clear if new issues will be problematic on their own, or can be solved if the other system issues get fixed.

Meanwhile, source says players "ready to go" with disclaimer of interest filing w/NLRB if talks break down. Different from decertification.Comment

12 hours, and Hunter says they didn't even get into the BRI split. Apparently most of the time in these meetings is spent apart.

1 morsel of hope today: ending talks relatively early allows more time Thu. to try & break thru-or at least keep clock stopped until Fri.

No matter what you hear about 53 or 47, count on this deal being struck, at some point, at 50/5Last edited by TN3LL; 11-10-2011, 01:59 AM.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Hey you know what would've been cool? If the ****ing NBA would've talked about the systems issues back when the the Union was trying to do that instead of placing a damn 50/50 or nothing precondition on meetings. Seriously man this is annoying. We finally get the BRI where it needs to be and what's holding **** up and the buzz word now is System?! I hate this lockout so much.Comment

I think the deal will ultimately get done, but all parties look absolutely pathetic. To still be fighting over this, with everything going on in the country, is sickening.XBL: Mean Greene

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
There wont be a next meeting. Ive been the main one saying that this is the pattern (meet, blow up, meet again). But if it happens again, the hardliners will take over. Stern barely has enough support for the offer he currently has on te table. If a deal doesnt come today or tomorrow, we are looking at 47% and Decertification/Comment

Fact: We have a bunch imbeciles at the table trying to negotiate a deal.

The most prominent agents continue to be skeptical that majority of clients will ratify a one-sided owner victory on system issues.

It wasn't until player rep meeting on Tuesday that those players truly understood what a top-to-bottom brutal deal this will be for them.

Nevertheless, agents also know some players will talk tough to them, but end up voting "yes" in privacy of voting booth.Last edited by TN3LL; 11-10-2011, 10:50 AM.Comment

Next big hurdle in NBA labor dispute: Sides finally agreeing on restrictions for tax teams on use of mid-level exception and sign-and-trades

Bigger hurdle after that: IF Stern/Hunter strike deal by FRI, as sources say they're targeting, will their owners and players vote in favor?Last edited by TN3LL; 11-10-2011, 10:55 AM.Comment
