I realize I'm putting way too much faith in David Stern and the owners for thinking that but if the union is bringing it to vote after flatly rejecting the previous it shows that something somehow changed for the better.

edit: Oh yeah thats the one thing everyone should take from this, the NBPA is coming off like a ramshackle mess of a union.

edit again: Prior to last weekend I had like 3 posts in this entire thread now I have 31. Yikes.
Just team player reps..the list is out there but it wasnt all of them I don't think that had this tude..maybe the majority did like danny green...he won't even be in the league in a couple of years

I don't like the fact that they put off the meeting until next week. Hunter and Fisher must have something in mind; what do they think their play is? Allow the continued decert talk in hopes that they can continue to negotiate the NBA to make concessions (sorry 23)? Surely they are not that delusional.

Boy would I love to sit in on the union's meetings. What is going on in their head?

Who knows where players heads will be by Monday, but there's a lot of frustration and anger with union leadership tonight.
          David Stern = genius.

The truth is, I bet we'd hear this kind of thing from the owners, but Stern made it his goal to tell the owners to shut up about the labor talks or be fined. One didn't listen and he got hit. Now no one will say a word.

But the Union never took that stand. They let the players talk and it's making the Union appear weak and undivided.

Whoever that veteran role player is got it right though; Billy Hunter is gone even if he somehow got the owners to give the players 100%.

I'm mostly surprised that the united players haven't just pushed Fisher, Hunter and Kessler out of the way. If they are so frustrated and united as they say, why are they texting about their anger instead of doing something about it?

I mean, if you really want 53%, then go for it. I won't be mad at you for fighting what you really believe in if you actually fight for it. If you're going to make it a game of words, then I lose respect and just point my finger at you for all of this.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Completely right. Pierce is the leak there.

Like I said, if this goes to a vote, I think it's accepted.....for all the tough talk, I think the majority would quickly accept it behind closed doors.

That's what I'm thinking as well. If it's the same meeting on Mon/Tues where it's just player reps....it's not going to get accepted.

At that point honestly......the owners just have to pull the revised offer off the table hand the players the "reset" offer and just let it be. If the season gets canned. So be it.

I guarantee you there would be some furniture moving (re: throwing) and some throats being grabbed.

David Stern's got them by the nuts. It's got little to do with BRI for these current players. It's about how many paychecks will they miss right now.

Yup, I think this is the best offer that the players will get. If it gets rejected, the players "union" is going to fall apart.

Looking at the deal, its not that bad. The owners conceded on practically every major system point. There is a soft cap. The mid level remains. There is now a new mini-mid level. Tax teams are able to do sign and trades. Bird exception remains.

The owners gave them the concessions that they needed. If they decide to blow up the season, its on them.
