Hearing the news today i feel real positive that there will be a season around the middle of November
( i think). The news today didn't sound much hopeless. Stern seem like he's excited for Monday and Tuesday. So i apologize to stern for calling him names through the TV. Sorry stern. but the Union didn't sound so happy so i'm still kinda optimistic

Personally I hate the Carmelo rule. I hate the Bird rule to begin with. I would like the salary laws to be more simple in my opinion all these rules to prevent things teams can avoid on their own is silly. On top of making the labor situation unnecessarily difficult to agree with. The players want less salary restrictions so let them have it. All the owners need are the important salary restrictions like a salary cap limit, less(or IMO no) exceptions and out clauses in the contracts. To get the same results all these bi-laws that have to be tweaked or changed every new CBA. Just keep it simple.

By the next CBA or the following one, owners will be bitching and threatening to cancel the season cause they're star players are bouncing cause they can't afford to keep them by going over the cap to sign for them and sure as hell bitching about not being able to do sign and trades.

Too much talking being done through the media.

Oh and put me down for liking that Carmelo Rule as well. Surprised it took THIS long for them to propose that because that should've been one of the first things they asked for.

The NBA is so backwards to me. I think they should be looking to address restricted free agency than a "Carmelo" rule. To me restricted free agency is the type of fundamental flaws that hurts the NBA. It puts both FO's in bad places. It forces any team that's seriously interested in a player to offer a ridiculous number that the original team can't match. So now the original team is in a position to either match this high number or lose a key piece. IMO free agency is difficult enough for teams without the restrictions with them it just seems like both sides lose.

Least of the problems that's wrong with the structure of the NBA.

Anyone think that we will get better basketball because of the lockout? Since the players are taking less money, I could see players really hustling and playing hard trying to get every dollar out of teams.

                              What do yall think?

Or worse basketball because players wanted more and will be pissed off and either be distracted, or perform at half their skill until the owners paythem more.

It could go either way, really. And it will be either really fun or really sad/painful to see.
