Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
As much as it pains me to do so I must side with the player on this one. Anybody knows that Josh Childress, Linas Kleiza, Hakim Warrick, Darko, Nikola Pekovic, Al Harrington, Joe Johnson aren't worth half of what they were paid last year in free agency. I'm sorry but if those guys alone will make 200 million plus whoever's paying them has some serious issues.Last edited by For The Win; 10-10-2011, 10:35 PM.Comment

Let's get real here Steve. The players are not negotiating to take less money. That's the one thing they have said they won't change. This lockout just grinds my gears.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
They'll have a shot if they file in the 9th circuit court. Which is a pro-labor court. Now I agree that if the appeals reach the Supreme Court level and they rule on it then they might shoot it down. That's maybe what the legal representation of the players might be hoping for. That the Supreme Court will just kick it back.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
i hope alot of people stop supporting the nba if the season starts. I hate greed especially when you are rich and wont even take a 4% paycutt so that your industry can become profitable. Hell, they are luck the nba doesnt have authority to lay off players. and truth we all face every dayComment

Aw, poor KG may have to retire if the season is cancelled.
Shouldnt have ran his mouth the other day.
I'm more concerned with classy guys like Duncan, Nash, and Hill saying "screw it". Actually, if Nash keeps running his mouth the way he did today, I won't care that much either.

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
I hope people start to realize how great the NHL actually is. The NHL lost a season, but it was for many different reasons. I hope the NHL thrives and the NBA dies for a bit, just to teach these players that being greedy and stubborn isn't going to work. People will still go to watch the Bulls, Celtics, Lakers, Heat, Mavs, Knicks, Magic, Thunder, and maybe a couple more, but the small market teams are going to be hurting. Kings, Twolves, Raptors, Bobcats and some others are in trouble, mainly the Kings. I want the NBA to learn this stuff can't happen everytime they need to renew their agreement.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
He'd be lucky if his knees even hold up this season. He'll be 36 in May with what would have been 17 seasons under his belt. Now if there is no hoops this season, next season he'd be lucky to get through January. Now he might be fine but there's been a lot of negative info on his knees. He should have been more interested in making one final run instead of holding out a year like he's 29. Maybe KG thinks he's Robert Parish, who knows.Comment

@WojYahooNBA
Classic Stern: Framing narrative about all the concessions owners gave -- rollbacks, guaranteed deals, hard cap -- were all owner proposals.None of those "concessions" ever existed, except in owner's wild first proposal to players. But that becomes negotiating point for owners......As opposed to the actual system that's in place now.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Barganing Agreement Discussion
I understand you are anti union or anti NBA, not sure which one, but I want to see the product they offer. Especially, when this **** might wipe away the last year of greats like Duncan, Garnett, Kidd and Allen. I hate that they can't compromise on the issue of a revenue split, but the owners are being just as stubborn and selfish.

I mean, all of those guys will probably play until they're 40.
Kidd...could happen. At least he won a title.Last edited by OSUFan_88; 10-10-2011, 10:42 PM.Too Old To Game Club
