Prime Kobe was the topic of both threads, so that's already 50% of the correlation. AKA half of the topic.

Many people decided they'd go with Prime TMac in the other thread over Prime Kobe.

Since LeBron's relatively short career thus far has far surpassed TMac's Prime, I would hope those same folks who chose TMac over Kobe, would now choose LeBron over Kobe. It would only make sense as TMac's 5-6 year prime don't even stack up to LeBron's last 7 years.

LeBron could retire today and go to the HOF. TMac won't ever sniff the front lawn let alone the same block of the HOF.

As far as the topic, just like the TMac v Kobe thread, it's hard to directly compare the two. Kobe had superior support and coaching compared to LeBron/TMac. It's a topic that will probably do nothing more than bring out people's bias'

thats highly debatable, tmac has hall of fame career numbers, I gather by the time of his retirement he'll have 20000+ points 4500+ Assists 1300+ Steals and 5500+ Rebounds there are players in the HOF with no rings with comparable numbers already in the hall of fame

Not to mention his All-NBA accolades and as much as people want to harp on it, the commitee will look at his All-Star selections. If he finishes his career as a Ron Harper kind of defensive (but leagues better at this stage than Ron on offense still) you can almost guarantee he'll be in.

True but what they have in common (no rings) isn't true when comparing to Kobe. So if James had to quit today, I'd say it happened before he reached his prime (rather than it's a shame he never won a ring like I would for TMac). If his career were as long as Kobe's and they both ended today, I'd have to give it to Kobe for a number of reasons, but since James hasn't really gotten into his prime yet I don't think it's fair to make the choice.

My completely biased choice is the Black Mamba for the win.

The guy was a man possessed, who's never had that deer in the headlights look on his face... the same can not be said about Lebron.

My opinion does not come from each player's team perspective either. In my 7 to 8 years watching Lebron I really think Lebron can get no better than he already is. So to me I consider Lebron's prime like beginning in 2006 to present.

Now as far as Kobe Bryant's prime goes it's really hard for me to decide on this most may consider after Shaq left and went to Miami, but I am going to say from the 2003-2004 season to 2007-08 season. I think it is only fair to draw comparison from these years because, These were also the years Kobe never won a title if you may notice.

If anybody should compare prime's they should begin there.

Lebron hasn't reached his prime yet. But I'd take a motivated T-Mac over Lebron & Kobe...

Prime is at his best with everything he is good at...

Hasn't developed a post game or legit mid range and he isnt the player to not at least attempt to work on improvement.

Give me that 2007/2008 Kobe when he was destroying everyone and nobody could guard him. Constantly was putting up 50 and 60 point games and was breaking records. One game the guy had 60+ after just 3 quarters, and that wasn't the 81 point scoring game. His jumper and moves those years was just unstoppable.

I can't stand Kobe either but he's clutch. I'd take Dwade over LeBron.
