    Re: Okur Look\'s Really Good!

Its hillarious to me that people think Gooden, K-Mart and DC showed a weakness in Ben's game. Does anyone remember that he was playing on a severley sprained MCL? The guy walked with a limp, yet you think hes a non factor while healthy because he was outplayed on one leg? Talk about lack of logic.

When you are very deep at one position, and your starter has not played one second of pre-season ball, the number one thing you want to do is get that guy going. It makes no sense to say "I dont care how many centers you have, play your young guys". Memo will be a huge part of our season, Darko wont. He doesnt need to be, and only an idiot would put a young guy higher on the depth chart than a 2nd year player who is better (Okur).

Like I said above, Prince looks much better than last year. It doesnt matter what happend last year anymore, because he has apprently learned alot. You can go on and on about how hes a non factor when people know about him but he isnt a rookie anymore. You have to remember that those were pretty much the first pro games the guy has ever played. Hes a 6'10" SF with a 7'2" wingspan and a 3 point shot. Sure he needs to gain some weight, but to say hes overrated (after playing in less than 25 games TOTAL counting the post season) is rediculous. Hes going to have a great season this year, thats easy to tell with how he is taking it to opposing team starters with relative ease.

Then again, Id probably be bitter too if my team was beaten in the post season by a rookie who didnt even play any regular season ball.

Darko would be a high school senior this year. Reread that sentence, also he has had some slight injuries as well.
There's no reason to play him now we have to play the people that are going to help us win this year, Darko will develop in practice by playing against some of the best big men assembled on one team outside of Dallas.

I didn't think Larry Brown was a great developer of young talent though, I thought he was brought here to win, with Philly he ran off Hughes, Tim Thomas others probably.

The Pistons are in a different position then the other lottery teams where we don't need to play the young fellas immediately to sell tickets, If Darko had stayed in Europe this year it wouldn't have been a huge loss for the team just for his development.

I agree, let Darko come along slowly...he's a young kid, that draft pick was more for the future than right now. Plus there wasn't a glaring hole the Pistons needed to fill with a rookie anyways, Darko just adds to the strong Detroit bench

Its humorous to hear this guy talk about the pistons. Your a Sixers fan i assume, brown did develop iverson if im not mistaking? Larry hughes hasnt set the world on fire since he left and neither has Tim Thomas so to say larry didnt develop them is off base cause noone has been able to help them. Hes dont a good job with kenny thomas and raja bell and turned eric snow from nothing to decent. Im wonderig do you even know your b-ball, prince played SF in college and plays it now. What leads you to think hes out of position? Hes a small foward end of discussion. Let me remind you, you have RANDY AYERS as a coach.. You wont see the finals again for atleast 4 years. Randy has done nothing and Brown is a hall of famer. Darko will be domainat in 2 to 3 years, while you have a one pony show. sorry dude and oh yea prince did house you guys LOL

Larry brown is a great developer of talent, but all of that happens during practice. believe me the entire roster is getting a great lesson in the game of basketball. i read in an interview that the two rookies from last year said they learned more in the first 2 days with coach brown then they did all last year, ( i think it was the first 2 days maybe 2 weeks not sure) sure there was a slight exxageration but their old coach didn't have a love for the rooks.

but don't tie in his development with playin time
