Count down top 10 all time - Game to pass the lockout

I'm sure everyone loves ranking players. Wanted to see what the posters at operationsports thought with respect to the top 10 players of all time.

However, instead of just listing 10 players, I thought we would do a count down, that way we're moving towards the fight for number 1.

Here's how it works. This thread can be open for the first 10 posts or so, giving their top 12 players (in order please) and from those 10 lists I'll compile a general consensus top 11. Then going spot by spot from 10 down to 1 we debate which player deserves the spot. If it's a little confusing feel free to ask questions.

For example, if the preliminary list is

1. Jason Kidd
2. Jamal Crawford
3. David Thompson
4. Larry Johnson
5. Clyde Drexler
6. Chris Childs
7. Chris Webber
8. Marcus Camby
9. Kenyon Martin
10. Dikembe Mutombo
11. Vince Carter

then the first thread would be: "Top 10 Player Countdown: #10: Vince Carter vs. Dikembe Mutombo, and we'd eventually move onto the fight for spot #1.

The first 10 posts will make our preliminary list on which we'll be going off of.

PS: Got this idea off of a different forum, not my idea.

Yeah, but this is a list of all time. I assume by the list you're naming players only from the 90's onward?

Yup. Going up to 12 or 13 spots would help too in case there's a tie for spot 11.

Can you close/delete a thread once the rank has been chosen? Having a separate thread for each rank is a more organized system.
