Basketball Reasons will prevent a deal like that from ever happening.

      My heart, it hurts

Honestly thought he was the one guy I could count on to be in a Bucks uniform with his personal fan section and everything. Always seemed like he loved it in Milwaukee.

Edit: Read that the Bucks are only willing to deal him if a team takes Stephen Jackson with him?

And also, I read that the Celtics offered Ray Allen to Indiana for Hansborough and a 1st round pick but Larry Bird said no.

Hell no I wouldn't trade away Hansborough for Ray Allen. Doesn't make sense. Yeah, Ray Allen is great, but what does he bring to the Pacers, who aren't at "this point" a title contender. You stick with Hansborough who does the dirty work that you can't find skilled players to do.

        Good call Bird. Good call.

Oh man. If an Eric Gordon to the Cavs trade could somehow be pulled off, I would be happy as hell. Problem is I don't see how it could be unless it was a multi-team deal.

I'm pretty sure the Bulls are staying pat this deadline. Not much trade-able assets; I would love Ray here but Jimmy Butler is not going to be enough for that to happen.

Either way, like many mentioned I too expect a quiet deadline.

I would rather just develop Butler at this point anyway.

I'm on that boat as well but because of the lack of play time we're still not sure what the Bulls have in him.

Yeah. Thibs has handled is playing time pretty poorly IMO. I think we had this convo before though haha

I just don't like giving up prospects for aging veterans if it won't make us a complete team. Ray won't do that unfortunately.

I think that trade was horrible on both sides. I agree, Allen could help a title contending team BUT the Pacers right now aren't that team. Pacer need to trade for someone a lot younger or try and get in the Dwight Howard sweepstakes.

I also look at it from the other side and I believe that the Celtics could get more for Ray Allen than just Hanborough. Call me unimpressed with this guy but I don't think he's more of a 6th man for a good team. You don't trade a guy who could start for most teams in the league for a guy who wouldn't crack the starting lineup for most teams above .500

If there were a way to do straight up Jimmy Butler for Ray Allen, I'd do that **** yesterday. The Bulls are legit title contenders, the only thing they need to completely solidify that status is one more consistent scorer. How the heck does Ray Allen for Butler (again if that deal was ever possible, I realize the salary constraints of it among other things)not make them a complete team?

I'm sorry, but Ray Allen is not going to make us a complete team.

No matter which way you want to spin it, another Rip Hamilton type, off the ball scorer, is not going to get us over the hump. We need a player that can create his own shot consistently. At Ray's age and his style of play, it's just not feasible.

No point of trading away a potential starter who is like 15 years the junior of Allen for short term goals.

Carmelo Anthony Did Not Want J.R. Smith On The Knicks

J.R. Smith has made quite the impression since signing with the Knicks last month. He's shooting 37 percent from the field and has already been fined $25,000 for tweeting a picture of the "girl with the biggest *** ever." But it's not like the Knicks weren't warned. The New York Post reports that Carmelo Anthony advised against signing Smith:
A couple of weeks before the signing, Anthony was asked if the Knicks should sign his former teammate who has a thuggish reputation. Anthony and Smith share the same agent, Leon Rose.

"If it happens, it happens and I'll be happy," Anthony said publicly before the signing.

But, according to the source, Anthony was not gung-ho and was "hurt'' Knicks upper management tossed his advice out the window.
This may only improve team chemistry.
Oh, Knicks. They might as well just come out and say Isiah has been running things behind the scenes to save face at this point.
