Considering the Owners were using the whole "competitive balance" excuse along with "losing money" to lock the players, there had to be.

So I'm pretty sure even if they traded him to NY, this would still happen and that's what this is about.

I know what the NBA is trying to do and I agree somewhat, but these super teams are going to happen. Parity in the NBA is a pipe dream, it's not going to happen.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, nbaplaybook.com did a study and found that Nene is one of the top 5 players in the NBA with his back to the basket.

I guess, but this is only a New Orleans thing. Was it like the New Orleans Clause, lol? Probably had to write this down somewhere though for legitimacy purposes.

I just get that vibe from Nene that he's going to be one of those guys that gets a ridiculous contract and starts coasting a bit.

              Could be wrong though....

Serious question because I don't really know what's so different, but why is there so much parity in every other sport, but NBA players seem so hellbent on never being in anything other than a major-market team.

You didn't get those two rings because of him. Stop over selling him.

Too much teams and a huge gap in the talent pool. Lebron, Dwight, Paul, etc are miles better than Anthony Parker, Illgauskas, Patty Mills.

That and basketball is probably the easiest game to win on the back of one guy.

Really, the NFL is the only sport with parity. As for the NBA, that's a good question. It wasn't always like that in the NBA.

This is random, but what happened to Desean Butler? I know MIA drafted him, but I haven't heard anything since. Did he recover from his ACL tear?

If this is Duhwight being traded to the Lakers, not even a problem because they have an Owner who approved that deal.

Just like how the rest of the league didn't care when Melo forced his way to NY and when Deron got traded to NJ.

Lakers also got Fisher and Kobe through the draft (traded for Kobe but still) does that count?

Also Rockets I hope we don't overpay for Nene I'm talking max money for a 13 and 7 guy. Is rather start 6' 6 Chuck Hayes or *shudder* Hasheem Thabeet *pukes*

Right right I get that, just wonder if the CBA had a "When the NBA owns a franchise" section that they had to discuss in regards to the CBA itself.
