LA has to have something .........absolutely have to.

But why would Cuban help them in any way to get Dwight? Unless he knows that Dwight in LA long term likely means Deron in Dallas next season. No way D-Will stays in NJ long term with no other superstar.

Maybe some crazy trade that looks like this:

Lakers get: Dwight Howard, possibly Jeff Green from Boston?
Orlando gets: Rajon Rondo, Andrew Bynum and/or Pau Gasol possibly?
      Celtics get: Chris Paul,

I don't know, that was something I thought of off the top of my head and it seems unlikely. But the Hornets are gonna trade Paul, so I'm wondering if any mystery teams are gonna emerge and join the talks, both with CP3 and Dwight.
Word is GM's have pretty much given up on trying to acquire Paul.

And as a correction the Sasha exception and the newly acquired exception cannot be combined. What is Kupchak trying to pull?

I find it funnier certain Laker fans in here are convincing themselves they're surely getting Dwight.

At least we know one thing: Chris Paul will NOT be a Laker this season.

Dude, you keep repeating that Bynum is more talented. I don't see, if anything they're equals. Brook is far better offensively, more durable and not a headcase. Bynum is better rebounder and slightly (I believe) better shot blocker. Yet, last season may have been an anomaly on the glass with Brook. Bynum will probably never be 100% or reach his full potential.

Exactly. How much has that talent actually helped the Lakers? This is a guy who's annually mentioned as a potential top-3 center in the league, but he can't stay healthy.

Talent doesn't mean anything if you're only on the court half the season, every year.

Ill go out on a limb here.

Lakers receive Jameer Nelson, Dwight Howard and Luis Scola.

Magic receive Bynum, Kmart, Dragic, and pick.

                    Houston receives Pau and Hedo.

Houston wants Pau and Magic never had the assets for Pau AND Bynum. Houston can facilitate. And Mitch / Houston FO have already been negotiating together

All I know is, the Knicks are in a position to add JJ Barea and are I guess trying their hand at Jamal Crawford.
Plus adding Bibby and Chandler, with already having STAT and Melo? #TheKnicksAreBack!

If I was Derrick Rose, I'd ask Dwight, "Don't you remember the moments we shared?"

But Derrick is too humble for all that haha.

Bibby is going to be propped up on the Knicks bench by Jonathan Silverman and Andrew McCarthy.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

So, now you're going to wish upon a star for Dwight? Mitch isn't Jerry West, his track record isn't flawless like you seem to believe.

Why would they want to do Orlando or the Lakers are solid by involving their, but only getting back Gasol and Hedo's horrible contract??

LoL. Ok. Brook Lopez and some late 1sts is better than Bynum, K-Mart and all of the other pieces that Houston was willing to move for Pau? Alrighty then. Superstar Brook Lopez to the rescue! Bynum and Pau for Dwight would make sense at this juncture although I do -not- believe the Magic alone possess the assets necessary, but the Lakers gutted LO for a trade exception. Something brewing there.

Houston CLEARLY wants Pau. They were aggressively pushing the CP3 trade and that was stated multiple times. Their plan is, and remains until otherwise heard, Pau Gasol and Nene. CP3 has nothing to do with them, he was merely a 3rd party to facilitate Pau to Hou. You're right though, Hedo probably wouldn't land in H-Town. Lakers would definitely need to pull a PF from either of those teams. Also, you're right, Lakers likely wouldn't be able to get Jameer. So it smells like Scola/Howard to me.
