As far as I know no not really, he's a pretty good guy who says himself multiple times that he loves the city. He wants to win and the GM realized he was not going to sign an extension at the time so they are actively looking at trades, he also realizes that it was the NBA who stopped the trade not Demps/Monty(or so i'd hope) as he's also shown up to camp. I'd think he would be willing to resign if the market just isn't there right now and the Hornets had a plan for the future

Will it happen? No probably not, but there's always that chance

I'm not judging which deal would be better, I'm just trying to get an idea of about where the three 1st round picks would fall.

It SEEMS to be down to LAL and NJ, with Dwight holding all the leverage, and Otis Smith trying to drive up the price by pretending he's fielding 26 other offers.

Regardless, those picks are NOT substantial enough to satisfy the Magic. They're gonna want more talent than that equal to a guy like Jimmy Butler, which is what those Lakers picks would equate to, more of less.

They're gonna want the opportunity to rebuild around someone legitimately, and Bynum is too much of a risk to take him only. They're gonna need a "back-up" plan of sorts.

Lots of gonnas and speculation. I'm sure the deal can be enhanced here and there. Good amount of salary off their hands. Bynum. 3 1sts are better than 2 1sts, and this draft has high value as opposed to last year. Draft picks are more coveted than ever right now. Magic would have 3 1sts to use this year. And a new arena to maintain financially.

Not speculating myself, just discussing the value.

Think Lakers would prefer this. If they want to include Pau's value in the trade, I believe Houston will facilitate it so that the Lakers wind up with a PF (T. Will or Scola) as well as Jameer. I imagine Magic would prefer the Houston Package to Pau Gasol himself. There'd also be the surplus of draft picks the Lakers accrued for the trade, maybe those change some things up in the trade structure.

The Bulls are expected to engage in talks with the Magic, according to the Tribune.

IMO the Bulls would be able to give the best package. It would include Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson (as sad as it would be to see them go) player-wise. That's better than Andrew Bynum OR Brook Lopez. Two defensive studs to build around, and Orlando would LOVE Noah's tenacity and heart.

Being a Chicago fan, I'd be sad to see Joakim go, and he's on a first-name basis around here. But I'm not sure if you can pass up on Dwight Howard if the opportunity was in front of you.

How would the two trade exceptions work? They can't be combined correct? So that's just straight salary relief? Is that about right?

If Paul doesn't go to LA, then Dwight will not be going either. Why go to a team that possibly in 2-3 years could be in rebuild mode? To play with an aging Kobe? Especially when what LA will give up, will leave them back at square one. I'd rather go to NJ and play with Deron Williams. They can make a better off than the Lakers, no matter how much LA fans want to sell Bynum like he's the next Kareem.

Still think the Bulls should get involved. They can offer a better package than either of these teams, period.

Otis Smith could definitely drive up the asking price by getting Chicago involved.

yep i think Cuban is convinced that he can bring D.Will home...that's why he's be clearing up CAP space for two years now

Cuban believes if he can get D.Will there's a chance he get Howard aswell....that was the reason why Cuban said he'd take Howard without and agreement of a long term deal because he knows Howard wants to play with D.Will

Now i think the Mavs are just going to stock as much talent as possible for this year all short term contract players role with it and this summer they are going to have major CAP space on their hands

Kobe is clearly on the decline, and the sweep last year represented that. Dwight already has relationships with Deron Williams (personal-friend) and Derrick, to an extent (business-adidas). Plus, a great PG helps Dwight out a LOT, much more than Derek Fisher.

Plus, who's to say Dwight wants to be put BACK under Shaq's shadow?

Also, where does this leave NeNe. Wonder about S&T possibilties. There's some unseen value after all in including Pau.....

Yeah, We can do Pau, Bynum, 3 1sts - for Dwight and NeNe S/T. Sign me up.

Hypothetically, let's say that is the offer. How could you turn that down? Especially compared to what the other teams are offering.

Also, how would Chicago not be the most appealing?

                              Rose/Hamilton (Maybe)/Deng/Boozer/Howard

No team wants to see that lineup, I can promise you that. If Howard is really dreaming of ships, then Chicago is the place he should want to be.
