Yes, it's a side show act.
What do you think that 12th spot should be?

You have FOUR solid big men already. Hell if you had 3 you would still be straight.

Yall dudes are deep at every position. I like the makeup of your team and I am not even a Bulls fan. Nothing wrong with keeping that 12 spot open for a player/coach.

Scalabrine is very knowledgeable about the game and brings professionalism to the squad. If you think Thibs and Bulls management would have him on the team for the simple reason of being a side show act you're wrong. They think he's valuable so he must be doing something right.

        From Thibs:

"He did an unbelievable job of making our team function well," said Thibodeau, who coached him in Boston. "I just thought that readiness and professionalism were invaluable to bring here."
        From Doc Rivers:

        - Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers has a good eye for head-coaching potential, and he’s identified another candidate.

Rivers campaigned for former assistant Tom Thibodeau to get a head-coaching job, and now Thibodeau is considered a Coach of the Year favorite with the Bulls.

One of Thibodeau’s players also has a bright coaching future, according to Rivers, who was visiting ESPN 1000 studios on Tuesday and took a call from Bulls reserve and former Celtics back-up Brian Scalabrine.

“Scal is going to be a hell of a coach,” Rivers said on ESPN 1000's "Afternoon Saloon". “He’s in the same spot I was in at the same point in his career, and all he says is, ‘No I’m going to do TV. I’m going to do radio.’ And I just shake my head, sure Scal.

“Scalabrine, mark my words, will be an NBA coach, and a good one.”

Rivers praised Scalabrine’s work ethic, and he also said the tradition of fans chanting Scalabrine’s name late in games didn’t originate in the United Center.

“We started that, right Scal? So they’re stealing what we did in Boston,” Rivers said. “I think Chicago should get something more original than that.”

“It’s grown to a whole new level here,” Scalabrine countered.

Other than Gibson and Noah absolutely love him and his basketball IQ is through the roof. He is not an on-the-court factor, but ask anyone on the Bulls, and I/ sure they'd credit the White Mamba with tremendous coaching acumen.

Almost every successful team has had their version of Scal on the bench...

Matt Bonner aka The Red Rocket used to be ours....now he gets minutes....which is probably why he isn't so beloved anymore, lol

2 pages arguing about whether Brian ****ing Scalabrine is a true side show act or not. Yeah, ya'll are bored.

The Fans cheer for him when he comes in but it ain't they're cheering for him because they think he's nice like that. But then again, NBA Fans aren't necessarily the smartest grape in the bunch anyway. I mean these are the same idiots that boo Kris Humphries because he divorced Kim Kardashian which has nothing to do with his actual game.

I think it all came down to 1Rose saying that we need to replace Scal with an athletic player. BUT my thing is, why are we worried about the 12th man so much? For Christ sakes it's the 12th man! Your not gonna get an argument out of me about him being a sideshow. Why is so much attention on the 12th man? I have no idea. He's not gonna make or break the Bulls season.

People legit wanna see the dude actually do well. When he missed that shot against Indiana, the roof would have blown off the UC if he made that and it's not simply because he's a side show, people wanna see him succeed. Is there some laughing at him in the whole thing? Of course there is cause he's a white dude that looks like Jackie Moon out there, but they also know he's a good guy and YES they do understand what he does for chemistry because even Derrick and the other guys are up out of there seats like giddy fans watching Scal play. Hating on that is just being ridiculous.
If you agree he is a side show act, then why are we arguing?

That was my reason for not wanting him on the team. It wasn't a question if whether the players like him.

Whether he can actually play, well that's up to opinion. If you think he is a good player, then I guess we have different criteria.

They get giddy, because he is awful, and when he scores it's a big deal, couple that with them all being close, of course they will go nuts.

Oh well, guess I'm in the minority that I don't want the end of the games for my team to be comedy hour.
