Not gonna happen. He's gonna retire a Sun.
But it's different. Being a class act and not forcing your way out via trade isn't the same as agreeing to leave via free agency. He has stated he wouldn't request a trade which is admirable, but has he stated he will come back?

Not that I expect him to leave, though. I actually think it'd be more likely for them to grab the Celtics old guys and go for a final hurrah together in Del Boca Vista west.

I guess it depends on how badly he wants a ring?

I agree though leaving to a contender through free agency when you are nearing retirement is different that trying to force yourself somewhere in a trade. Steve seems like a classy guy so I'd be happy to see him retire in Pho but I couldn't be mad if he tried one last shot at a ring.

I wonder if the Deron to Dallas thing doesn't happen if he would consider teaming up with Dirk one last time to have a crack at it?

Yep, I could see him going to Dallas before he ever goes to LA or Miami or New York or wherever.

He had an opportunity to leave in FA too but he re-upped. Pretty sure that happened in the Summer of 2009, on the heels of an absolutely DISASTROUS season.

He's never been the type of person to go crazy about rings. I remember him saying once that if he gets one, great, if not then there's other **** to worry about and fall back on, and that rings don't necessarily define a career and accomplishments.

I see Dallas or Toronto way before LA or Miami. Those last two are simply not happening.

Problem is that this team is nowhere near as "bad" as it seems. We have tons of cap space and we'll have a pick in a deep draft if we don't make the playoffs. Considering like 3 games separate the 4-12 seeds, it wouldn't surprise me at all to immediately jump back into contender status with a re-signed Nash, Hill, and FA like Gordon.

Even as a Heat fan, you should know that LeBron and the boys aren't exactly the most classy bunch. They've done some cool stuff like the Trayvon Martin thing, but in general...

I really just hate the Heat though, it would pain me to see Steve in their jersey, or in a Lakers jersey, or a Spurs jersey, those three are unacceptable.

Uh Oh! Looks like Nash most likely will be asking out of Phoenix this off season. Maybe they should have traded him before the trade deadline?
Steve Nash, one of the top free agents this summer, joined the Dan Patrick Show this afternoon and said some comments that probably made ripples around the league.

Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash, one of the top free agents this summer, made ripples around the league in a radio interview Thursday, saying he would consider joining the Miami Heat.

"I'm not coming back to the Suns if there isn't improvement," Nash told "The Dan Patrick Show".

Nash explained he's expecting the Suns to try to make those improvements, but that he's looking forward to becoming a free agent and deciding where to continue his career.

The hypothetical of LeBron James asking Nash to join up in Miami for one last push at a championship was brought up.

"I would listen," Nash said. "He's phenomenal. I love what they're doing there. A lot of people don't like them because they put all that talent there. But they're professional, they play hard, they play together. Their coaching staff has done a great job, so I have a tremendous amount of respect for them.

                        "I would definitely listen."

It shouldn't surprise anyone the 38-year-old point guard without a world championship might be enticed by the idea of joining a contender that has what many consider a relative hole at the point guard slot.

Keeping the Heat in the conversation could be used as leverage in negotiations with other teams. But joining the Heat would mean that Nash would be leaving millions of dollars on the table.

The Heat won't have any salary-cap space next summer, so Nash would have to settle for the mid-level exception if he wanted to join the club.

Plenty of teams, including the Suns, could offer much more money than the Heat.

But for someone who has earned about $120 million during his career, sacrificing some money for winning a title might be palatable to Nash.

The 38-year-old Nash is averaging 12 points and 11 assists with a true shooting percentage (which incorporates 2-point shots, 3-point shots and free throw percentage together) of 62.7.
I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm X
