His skills were certainly there in the Olympics in 2008, I guess he miraculously developed a high IQ, passing vision and rebounding right before that summer...

I wouldn't doubt that he was out of shape though in Europe.

Hey, im just repeating the commentary I heard on him, (which I actually heard in 08). The USA/Spain game on YouTube, check it out...They talked about that stuff, and mentioned how he was turning it around. Maybe they were spreading vicious propaganda, I don't know lol

I can't really say I followed him before the NBA.

I don't doubt it, my reply was more to that exact sentiment not necessarily directly to you. I was actually replying to the other guy as well who initially made the statement.

I don't think he was in the best shape in Europe, but the skill set was certainly there in the summer. All I'm sayin

That's fine, as I said, maybe he just miraculously developed at a rapid pace for the Olympics. He looked like a promising player as did Rubio.

Marc Gasol was terrible before he reached the NBA? Explain

He looked pretty damn good/promising in the 2008 Olympics

Well, not skill wise, stat wise, his stats in the Eurocup & the Euroleague aren't as impressive as you would expect, especially in comparison to Pau's success in Europe.

I agree he probably wasn't utilized probably, but from scouting his play in these leagues you wouldn't think "promising top tier center".

Anyway, the argument isn't about Marc being good or bad, I might be wrong also as I haven't watched him almost in the Euro days, but scouting in the colleges is way easier as you see a NBA-Similar system, where in Europe it's very different since there is no 3-sec in the paint and teams play zone.
