Hakeem Olajuwon said that JaVale McGee should “dominate” the NBA after working with him this summer.
We can’t help but chuckle at the quote given McGee’s antics on the court previously, but JaVale is a freak athlete capable of really leaving his mark if he can put it all together under George Karl. “No question, I see him as another star,” Olajuwon said. “That guy should dominate the league. He has tremendous talent. I give him all these moves and he can finish and he’s already skilled.” McGee averaged 10.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks on 61.2 percent after joining the Nuggets, and we feel confident saying he’ll be more productive for fantasy owners in the coming season.
Not trying to diss Hakeem but has there been a big man who improved their game significantly and became more offensively efficient after working with him?

Or is working out with Hakeem like going to the John Lucas Camp? Lots of hype but very litte(if any)progress?

I'd say it helped LeBron, but he's not a big man.

Anyway, I love Javale, I think he'll be a top 5 center when he can put all that athleticism together. He's probably more athletic than D12 already, and Howard's "moves" are so stale and predictable that it won't be hard to pass him in that regard either.

I think it's obviously Hakeem trying to hype up his camp.

Gortat did pretty well after working with Hakeen, even though so many people just give credit to that mangly-haired douche for making him "better than he actually is".

You are too funny, Matrix. Seems like Amar'e was at the camp as well:

All-Star forward Amar’e Stoudemire, who’s spent the better part of a week in Houston training with Hall-of-Fame center Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon, is ecstatic about all he’s learned. Knicks coach Mike Woodson, who played with Olajuwon when the two were with the Rockets, advised Stoudemire to work with Hakeem with hopes of adding some weapons to his offensive arsenal. If Stoudemire’s mindset is any indication, it seems like the mission has been accomplished. Via MyFoxHouston.com: “‘It’s always room to improve as a player,’ Stoudemire said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports. ‘To want to be the best is always a common denominator for most players. So working with Hakeem, one of the best players to ever play the game, is a great opportunity for me. We are both very quick and athletic for our positions. So to learn from him will be a great advantage for me.’ Stoudemire said it is fantastic to work with a guy who has accomplished so much in the NBA. Olajuwon won two NBA championships with the Rockets and is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. ‘He helped me a lot,’ Stoudemire said. ‘A lot of moves that he has really, really translate to my game. To now develop a post game is going to be remarkable for me. It’s going to catch a lot of my opponents off guard and it’s going to be a great year for me. I have the IQ to implement this and learn fast, but it’s not easy. There’s a lot of detail that goes into it. He’s very, very swift with his footwork, and he’s very agile also, at (age) 50 still. It’s great to learn from him. This is a great opportunity because you never how long he’s going to be able to do this. So while I’m young and can still learn from one of the best, (I’m) very blessed to be a part of it.’”

I guess Patrick Patterson isn't a Kevin Martin fan?

If I'm Kevin McHale, I don't know. But if I'm myself? Me of course, at the four. Jeremy Lin, one... [Jeremy] Lamb, two... Chandler Parsons at the three and Omer [Asik] at the five. As long as I'm in that starting position, I'm happy. So in my eyes, I see myself as a starting four. But it all comes down to what Coach McHale wants, what he sees fit and what he believes will help the team out.
