      TMAC showing love

Jeff Van Gundy, you exemplified the brilliance of what a great coach is.
Kobe, you made me work harder and it was an honor to play against you.
There are times in life that a new road presents itself and it appears this time has come for me now. I am so proud of what I have accomplished these past 15 years playing in the NBA. It was a dream...

        Re: NBA Off Topic

So David Stern nixed Stan Van Gundy joining ESPN's NBA Countdown?

SVG went off on ESPN. Rightly so IMO.

“No one at ESPN will tell us what happened. Certainly the NBA office isn’t going to tell us what happened. One of the quotes from ESPN in there – we had discussions, but couldn’t agree on a role … as is usual, that’s a bunch of BS from ESPN.

We actually did agree on a role, but then they came back and pulled that. That’s when we knew something was up.

Nobody is going to give a straight answer because … that’s just the way a lot of people operate … nobody there has the guts to say anything, so that’s what you deal with.

What I find fascinating … you have to give David Stern and the NBA a lot of credit … ESPN pays the league, and then the league tells them what to do. It’s more ESPN’s problem. You gotta have no balls whatsoever to pay someone hundreds of millions of dollars and let them run your business.

Just say what happened. Who cares? Who cares if I’m on there or not. Just come out and say this is what we decided and why … [ESPN's quote] that’s just a flat out lie. Why would you do that? I don’t understand. We agreed on something, you changed your mind and pulled the offer. Don’t say we couldn’t come to an agreement. We did.”

He's being blackballed because he's outspoken. That's not right.

They'd rather have Chris Broussard up there saying how the league is so swell.

SVG would've been calling people out if he had the forum. They have no idea why the TNT crew is so much better.

Kobe saying the Obvious(unless you're name is Kashanova )

Looking around the locker room now, Kobe Bryant can laugh about the days when his teammates included Smush Paker, Chris Mihm and Kwame Brown. Despite the number of seasons and NBA championships that have gone by, Bryant still bristles when he thinks of the 2005-06 season. “I almost won an MVP with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown on my team,” Bryant said before Wednesday’s 93-75 exhibition loss to Portland. “I was shooting 45 times a game. What was I supposed to do? Pass it to Chris Mihm or Kwame Brown.”
Bryant was referring to 2005-06 when the Lakers’ roster included Brian Cook, Stanislav Medvedenko, Devean George and Parker, Mihm and Brown.
Bryant continued, taking aim at his favorite whipping boy, Parker, calling him “the worst. He shouldn’t have been in the NBA but we were too cheap to pay for a point guard. So we let him walk on.”
Guess Bryant has a long memory

The Obvious? LOL come on now Pack. I don't know if Kobe saw the voting for the 2006 NBA MVP but how could he say he almost won? It's not like he was second place in votes and lost by a few votes he wasn't even in top three in voting. This guy needs a reality check. Also I know it's easy to talk about Smush now that he's out of the league but the simple fact that Smush was able to score double digit points and shoot 43%-44% in those years(Which by the way was a better percentage than what Kobe shot last year) tells me that during those years Smush had the talent to play in the League.
